samsung hd-dvd/blu ray dvd player

Is anyone using this? Thinking about getting this after buying a new tv.
I had a 1080p dvd player about Samsung that was amazing. Took it back and got the HD-DVD player from Toshiba. This was a mistake.
Everything I own burned in the fire!!!!!!!!!!

    just get a stand alone Blu ray player.. no need anymore for a HD DVD player.. unless you have a lot of HD DVD's. that's my plan for later this year. i've got about 12 HD DVD's, and a Toshiba player.. but plan on dumping it later, and going strickly Blu

    I'd second the vote for getting a standalone Blu-Ray player, and then dumping your library of HD DVDs for a low, low price in the FM.

    Your HD-DVDs are worthless. I wouldn't even try to sell them. Just ship them directly to me. I'll cover the shipping costs.:D

    I have this unit (Samsung BD-UP5000). Other than the fact it plays both formats, and standard DVD, the biggest benefit for me is the PQ of Standard DVD due to the Reon chip. I kid you not, the PQ is very close to both HD-DVD and BD. So, I still like the idea of having one player that plays all formats and let me buy an obsolete format on the cheap. If you can spring the dough (I think now it is down to about $600 compared to what I paid, $800).
    I am sorry, I have no opinion on the matter. I am sure you do. So, don't mind me, I just want to talk audio and pie.
