If you were wondering why I am selling a bunch of my equipment, it's because I'm moving in a little bit, and they just got replaced. After thinking about it for a while, I decided to upgrade instead of try to integrate the HT and 2-channel. All of it was good equipment, but just need to clean up the components. (I went from 6 to 2!)
Now my speakers don't exactly match, but I like them and they sound really good. Mains are CRS+ about to become 4.1TLs tomorrow :cool:. The center is the good old 350LS, and the rears are f/x500i. Running low duty is a pair of custom subwoofers built with NHT 3.3 12" drivers. They are very musical and will integrate well for both roles; especially with the CRS+.
On the electronic side, it starts with my new favorite, the Lexicon DC-1. This thing is unbelievable. Literally I still poke it from time to time to make sure it's real. I have the THX and DD version as I wasn't too interested in DTS or AC-3, but since it also does 7.1, I can go that route if I ever want to add another pair of speakers. For such a plain, unassuming box, it is the best thing to ever happen to home audio. Of course it has the regular ins and outs, including four digital. However, its real magic starts with it's own 20 bit DAC. Couple that to Lexicon's "256FS Jitter Reduction", throw in internal lowpass and highpass x-overs that are 24dB/octave and you have a system that sounds great and easily adjusts and contols all your speakers and subs, whether 2 channel or HT. I have only listened to this so far in 2 channel mode with my monitors, (due to lack of space and CRS+ on the operating table) but it is amazing; clear, controlled, open, and very musical. It is amazing how good a well designed pre/pro can sound in two channel.
Couple that to my also new Outlaw 7100 and I like what I hear. I will be using it for mains, center, surrounds, and stereo subs. 100wpc at 8 ohms is not originally as much power as I wanted, but it is easy and doesn't require a dedicated power line. Plus, it's a true 100w with all driven, so it does sound very good. Bass is real tight and the sound is effortless. I'm going to try the Outlaw on the CRS+ when they are up and running, but I still have the Carver, just in case...

Congrats on the DC1 ,its a great choice for your combined HT 2ch.While it is a bit old ,being that it's a Lexicon it will put some current big buck pre pros in there place.

Remember our x-over discussion a while back GV#27 when I bought the Reckhorn? Well, the Reckhorn is now completely pointless thanks to the DC-1 (Not the worst problem to have
). With it I can set x-over points for all five speakers and subs, high and low. Oh well. Now I have to decide whether I want to sell the Reckhorn or keep it around for fun... -
One question for someone: There is only one subwoofer output on the DC-1 and I have two subwoofers. Would my best option be to use a single male to dual male splitter, or is there a better way to do it?

To answer your question ,yes just use a Y adaptor on the sub out of DC1.Testing

Here are some pictures of the Lexicon. It's obvious that they don't put a whole lot of money into their look, which is fine because all that money goes into the sound.
