Me and my girlfriend are looking for a smalll system for her car. I was thinking a 12" Pioneer Sub in a sealed box. I have a Kenwood Cd Player in it right now, and tsunami wiring from my recent subs. I was wondering if anyone had any ideas on what amp i shuld use to power that to get the hardest bump out of it and still sound good at the same time. And i was wondering if anyone knew of any extras i would need to power something like that also.

Thanks,
Kody

    How about a 12" Polk sub in a sealed box?

    You do know where you are, right?

    Well, you found the forum - maybe that's a sign that Polk should be in your future.

    Not to be an ****$, but seriously. You came on a Polk forum to ask about Pioneer. You say you don't know much about Polk stuff, yet you are asking about Pioneer, why not ask about Polk stuff on a Polk forum so you can have a better idea about Polk rather than ask a bunch of Polk enthusiast to tell you about Pioneer? Polk > Pioneer. I know I am sounding like an ****$ right now, but some ppl take offense to people coming onto their forums just to ask about another companies stuff.

    Get this ---> http://www.polkaudio.com/caraudio/products/subs/12inch/db212/

    Then power it with a 700 watt amp and youll have all the "bump" you could want. Best of all, itll sound good too.

    I recently installed the shallow mount pioneer 10" into my friends ford ranger and it sounds pretty good. but it def doesnt sound like my MOMOs. while pioneer does make some pretty good stuff, in order to get the sound quality from one of their products, u are going to have to buy a high end premier sub that is going to cost = or > than a MOMO setup or that DB212 (which btw frys electronics has had them on sale for the past few months for 149.99 which is an amazing price) i would say go POLK, jl, kicker, diamond or (a lot of people have been saying) image dynamics

    Whoa there. Like I said, I wasn't tryin' to be an ****$ to you or disrespect you, don't get mad. I have 2 12" Polk SR124-DVCs and I love them. Of course those probably cost more than you are looking to spend. If you are not looking at going the Polk route, might I suggest the 12" Kicker CompVX. Kicker makes good stuff (man I love their amps), and I have heard nothing but great things about the CompVX subwoofers. If that is still too much, the CompVRs or Polk MOMOs would probably do you good. Can't really go wrong with Polk or Kicker in my opinion. But there are other good brands too: JL, Boston Acoustic, Alpine, MTX, etc.

    MTX makes outstanding subs. Very good output, very good sound quality and unmatched build quality. Possibly the best built subs on the market. I ran a 150 watt MTX 8" sub for several years with over 350 watts and routinely tried to overpower it and it never so much as whimpered.
