Actually, I had purchased a used Denon 3910. But it had some issues. It would not play "hybrid" sacd's. So, I'm returning it. At first the seller wasn't going to accept it, but I kept pestering. So we'll both be out shipping. Oh well. But after listening to this unit in DVD-A and the one non hybrid SACD that I have, I need to get another one pronto. I already have an older JVC DVD-A player, but the Denon totally smoked it. I want a player that will do the 5.1 analog outs and of course digital. HDMI (Probably for video purposes only) I also need it to have a seperate 2 channel out. The 5.1 analog will go to my Rotel pre pro. The 2 channel will go to my Musical Fidelity 2 channel pre.
I'm open for suggestions. I was looking at the Oppo 981, a used Marantz, of course the Denon's. Are there others that fit the bill. I'm thinking around $500 to $700 new or used.

I believe there is a good used Denon 5900 in your price range in the FM, check it out. Look for a source sale, I think Andy has it up.

I was checking that one out, but I don't think it has HDMI.

This is the player to get and it is right in your wheelhouse. Do some research on it as it is well regarded.

Hmmm. I may have to do some investigating on that one. I think that's the first one I've seen on the gon.

My Denon 3910 does hybrid's without trouble. Yours was just a faulty unit I assume? Have you considered just going for another 3910?

Hmmm. I'll have to give it some thought.

I don't know. After having the 3910 in my possession, I'd have a hard time going to the 2910.:)
