Acurus A200X3 and RTi's

I just purchased my first amp, an Acurus A200X3, for my RTi speakers, and I just got through setting them up. The amp neutralized some of the brightness that I heard coming from my Onkyo 805, while adding a bit more detail to my music. The only problem I'm having now is that when I turn on the amp, there is a pop/hum/scratch type of noise that comes from the speakers. Is this normal? Will it hurt my speakers? Should I just leave the amp on all the time?

I currently have the amp connected to my Monster 3500 MKII's switched/time delayed socket, so that the amp turns on only when I power my 805.

Any input would be appreciated. Thanks!

    Have you tried turning on the amp first, then turning on your receiver? If you have your amp in standby, triggered by something else, that's most likely the cause.

    Good suggestion Sami but I will add I have my B&K triggered by my AVR and do not have this issue.

    thanks for the help, guys. i dunno what changed, but it doesn't seem to be making the noise anymore. as for the amp itself, the acurus has exceeded my expectations. however, i also have an anthem mca 30 coming in soon. i wish i could keep both, but i'll keep the one that gives me the warmer sound.
