Which is the better SSR for the following HT set up in a 15x12 room (to be used mostly for movies but also for music)?
RTi10's (2), FXi5's (2), CSi3, PSW505
Elite is $300 less, but has higher THD (.09% vs. .05%). The Elite is 140W X 7, Denon is 130W X 7 (but Denon claims theirs is equal power to each...not sure about Elite).

The Elite is equal power to each as well. Don't know which is better but I'm very happy with my older VSX-52TXi which has a power rating of 110W X 7 and very nicely (and with no audible distortion) powers my RTiA7 fronts very well.
The system:

Polk Audio RTiA7 Fronts
Polk Audio CSi40 Center

Pioneer DV-400V DVD player (for divX playback)
Pioneer Elite DV-79AVi DVD player (for sacd, dvd-audio and dts audio playback)
Oppo HD981 DVD player (universal player)
Bell ExpressVu 9200 HD-PVR Satellite Receiver
Monster Cable speaker cables and interconnectsSDA-1C (full mods)

FWIW, I've got a Elite VSX-84TXsi and like it alot. It replaced an older Denon I had. I'm not koocking the 4306 in any way, both are good. I just happened to swing a better price on the Pioneer.

I ahve been very happy with my Elite as well even though I have not used the internal amps for a year or so. The power difference is too small to be noticable. I would give them both a listen if you can and see which one you like. Do they both offer the features and connections you want? From my experience I would vote Elite as well.AVR: Elite VSX-21TXH

The Pioneer Elite is a better choice. I think it sounds better with your line of polks as well. It's a beautiful receiver with HDMI 1.2 switching x 4. I think it's a good chooice especially for what you can get one now for.Dan
My personal quest is to save to world of bad audio, one thread at a time.
