For some-odd reason I feel that this is going to be a long, drawn out thread.

    Here we go..........

Same thing as when some people get behind the wheel or in groups of people...they have that barrier between them and the immediate danger they wouldnt take on alone...sad really.

It's getting alot better though. The early days of the internet were terrible; practically everyone was being an internet commando/****. Most early forums were just a bad joke. I had one commando who was local, I think the effer was following me around or something. He knew where I worked, who I was out with, etc. I finally asked the a-hole to meet me at the city park so we could "talk."

Never did find out who the **** was, but I'd give a months pay to know.

Of course it applies to us as well. And what's really galling is that those that get busted for it try to blame the rest of us for being too politically correct, when all it really is just an old fashioned case of being bullies. Or mob mentality.

One would hope that as they entered adulthood that you wouldn't be confronted with this kind of behavior because you would hope that people would grow out of it.

Sadly that is not the case.

That's totally creepy what happened to you Steve!

The thread title is computer posting rage. Do you not think that "this" is a prime example on how it gets started? Boundaries/Pushing/Limits.

3 out of 4 stars eh, Ron? [See what I mean?]

My 12 year old son, is ranked some high command on Halo 3 online. Now he has the biggest chip on his sholder, you should hear how he talks to all the newbies that play online with him. I think its funny. But he knows better.. He just laughs and says, "hey dad, thats how I was treated when I first started, its initiation"

So whatever.... How do some people go through life. It must be hard as hell with such thin skin....

Sorry Jake, but nobody should have to go through an initiation just to post on the web. It's not having a thin skin that's wrong, it's that people decide that they don't have to treat others with decency & respect due to the annonimity of the web.

I bet most wouldn't do it if they had to do it face to face & risk a broken jaw.
