I'm currently demo-ing 2 budget receivers (Yamaha 6050, Denon 688). Sound quality seems better in the Yammy, but i'm not decided yet.

I was just wondering if i could get better results (SQ) out of another receiver. Which receiver are all you Rti8 owners out there using?

Cheers!

    Hello,

I don't believe either receiver will have enough drive for your speakers. If you step up to the HTR6060 or Denon 888 you will find the dynamics and control will be greatly improved.

I had my RTi8's with a Denon 3803 for over two years and was very happy with it. I think it was 110 WPC, though not 100% sure.

I bought a refurb HK and an amp and that worked out great for me instead of putting all my coin into a receiver. The HK was a little warmer to help calm the brightness of the 8's.

If you like your music as well as movies have a look for a Cambridge audio 640R. No gimmics, Great sound.
    They list it as 100 wpc x 7 & 120 wpc x 2 but in all the lab reports ive read its more like 120 w x 7, 150w x 5 & 170w x 2. All channels driven into 8 ohms. Dynamic power great to for a reciever.
    Pretty impressed with mine.

That store doesn't seem to deliver to Canada. Our options are somewhat limited iup here.

Hard to get good deals and even harder to find stuff to test at home.
