the HC6000 was ordered online for just $2899 this morning

I love my HC5000 but am already green with envy for your HC6000. The 6k fixes the one problem I have ever had with the slow auto iris. I initially had some problems with the green settings but bought an Avia 2 disc and calibrated it myself in about 20 minutes. Enjoy..

Nice job on calibrating it yourself. I found out that costs a pretty penny to get it done professionally. You know that next year I will be green too when the HC7000 will be out, but I guess that is how it goes and that is how all those companies stay in the game and we get to enjoy the fruits of their labors. (and remunerate them too of course, he he)

    Frank,
I should be in the Springs on Thursday, weather permitting, I saw snow on the horizon but it might just be my town. I'd give you my cell but I think I allowed members to reach me via email, try that, let me know what time available you have if you want to do that, but if it does not work don't sweat it, I am going by Listen Up and integrity and lifestyle something rather in Woodland Park on my way down. So I should be able to see quite a few things. Any suggestions for other stores? Thx!

I guess we are getting to the meat of the story: The LSi set of speakers needs power. How do I give it to them, or rather which piece of equipment is going to do the job? I am currently looking at Cinenova, Rotel 1095, Sunfire 7200 (7400 too much?), B&K, Outlaws... At this point I have consulted with Mr. Mastercard and Ms. Visa and got their permission via 0% until yadida to go ahead and have a nice Christmas, so a few hundred dollars will not matter in the scheme of things. Let's get it right. Who drives the Lsi15s? I am going to look at other posts but if anyone has 2 cents to offer, please do. We are in the darkside now baby!

    Hi Wout,

I bought all of my LSi's through Z-Tech electronics in Los Angeles. They are an authorized dealer and all came NIB. I have been on this forum a while and tell you I couldn't find a lower price anywhere. Kevin over there is a good guy to deal with. I initially had some anxiety so only bought one speaker. When it came through great I went on to buy my entire line of 15's, C, and Fx's NIB with paperwork. You can communicate with them at thier Ebay store although they cannot sell directly from Ebay as an authorized dealer.

I bought my 9's from Z-Tech. Your right, Kevin is a good guy and the prices are more then excellent. I would go back to purchase anytime.

Terrific! All of the amps you have listed will get the job done Wout. There is no such thing as too much power for speakers & when it comes to the LSI's, the more you give them the better they will sound.

It looks like you are leaning towards the Cinenova, so go for it & don't look back!:D

If you are looking to get separate amplification, why not go for a dedicated Pre-Pro instead of a receiver?

I ordered and received today the Onkyo 885 Pre-amp
    http://www.onkyopro.com/model.cfm?m=PR-SC885P&class=Preamplifier&p=i
    * HDMI 1.3a Switching
    * Reon-HQV™ HD video scaling up to 1080p
    * Dolby Digital Plus, Dolby TrueHD and DTS-HD decoding

This has all the bells and whistles you could want..

One main thing this has over the Denon's is XLR output to your amp....

For an Amp the Cinenova is a great amp, which I did some research on and every one recommended it.

There is one on ebay NEW

    http://cgi.ebay.com/ws/eBayISAPI.dll?ViewItem&item=280180400771

    1,950.00 + 90 for shipping total of 2040 shipped.

I would seriously consider that amp, If i had the budget for it, but its been blown on my new pre-amp.

    Hi Waarna,

Great info! I'll look into it.

By the way the HC6000 came without a bulb so it final price was actually 3300. Since I did not like the switch and bait I cancelled the order.

    Thanks to you all.

It looks like a nice amp but that guys feedback has almost 10% negative which would turn me off for such an expensive piece.

I went for the amp. His negative feedback was all old from 03-04 and he restituted payment a lot. He'll be alright. That thing comes in a crate!

CONGRATULATIONS Wout! Everyone raves about that Cinenova and it sure is a great price. You definitely will have plenty of power! I think that thing is rated to 600 at 4 . It's also like 150 lbs so qualifies as a true gorilla. Better post a review once you get it fired up!

The amp itself is a beast.

As long as you dont have any problems with the seller, I think you got a very good deal for the amp. Especially considering its new.

Also this amp has XLR Balanced inputs, so why not get a receiver or pre-pro that supports it...

Thanks for all the encouragement. I will let you know what it sounds like. Tomorrow off to COS afterall, despite snow and recent sickness (it was quick).

I can't wait to hear my wife's thoughts, or actually that I won't be able to hear her anymore! OK we'll turn it down.... sometimes.

Matti, another great piece of info. I'll look into to that as well. In addition, Onkyo let me know that their 885 Pre-amp does not support two subwoofers... I was planning on being a bad boy all the way and get two of the new 13" PC Ultras (cylindrical shape=cool) for the 27x21x8 room. Mmm, may be one is OK? So it influences the pre-pro decision as well.

Thanks again for all the help, couldn't do this without you all.

On the topic of balanced inputs, which I had never heard about I found this post at another forum. Basically, if I were to have very long runs of cable it would make good sense, other wise less. The thing one person was saying is hook it up with RCAs and if you get hum try the XLRs. If the pre amp does not support XRL balanced outputs then you can get a "balun" box to put in between pre and amp. Whew! I feel like I am really getting in over my head here. I'll probably start with RCAs.

Thx for another interesting perspective. In my next life I want to be a sound engineer - fascinating!
