It's ugly, and it's been beaten like a dead horse, but for those that wouldn't mind cosmetic hell on a $10k system, here ya be..........

if everything worked it might be worth wile to buy and get fixed. with bondo and new laminet. that would be an idea but shiping would be more than you pay fro them and proabley another 1000 to fix them.

wow, looks like a major restoration project to me, wonder how many of those drivers are still breathing?? I am not familiar with the srt, hope it doesn't use ports, since I hate to think what might be inside the enclosures...dead mice perhaps...
I am sorry, I have no opinion on the matter. I am sure you do. So, don't mind me, I just want to talk audio and pie.

No one beat up these speakers, as the guy said, he got them from the Wiz, they were probably all damaged in shipping and he got them on closeout.

    I love this line though:
They say this is one of Polk Audio's best systems from back when they were the best company.

Anyone know what it would take to repair those pushed in tweeters? Whats a new tweeter cost? I might consider picking these up.

First off.........RT800's? and with different colored drivers? I'd say scrap those for wood....(as it looks like they already have been)

The things look just beat to hell. Closeout or not, I've seen better condition $100 dollar speakers that have been around for 10+ years. That's ridiculous

I halfway would consider it.........and ONLY because it's a $10k system that how many people that you know actually have? ya know? I wouldn't ever do a restore on something like the 800's, but on the flag mack daddy of the Polks? considerable.........

Take me about 25 minutes to drive to Freehold and pick those up, but I don't think I will.

I really have no desire to sugar coat anything to the one that spats off at the mouth so regularily and with a lack of substance that it's become something that should probably be expected.........but I won't.

If MX feels that the SRT system is something that his dog can piss on, fine. I took issue with the comment. I could always just accept the fact that he's prone to make that kind of ignorant comment.......

Agreed it's just a pair of speakers......What irks me is the stupid comment. That's all.

Mx, maybe I'm the only one that took it that way, but really, if your post consists of something as useless as the pissing dog comment, I don't see point in even posting. What's your purpose in even posting? ya know?

that system has been beaten to a pulp. why would anyone do that to a once nice system like that? I don't think it was damage from a delivery truck.. most likely if it was.. only one of two of the speakers would have received some damage. It looks like someone just didn't take care of them.. or took a few to many happy pills. Who knows. the person posting didn't say where the damage came from.. whether he did it.. or not. I get angry if I find dust or fingerprints on mine. :p

wow. looking at those almost brings tears to my eyes. Just think what one of us on here could have done with them. oh well. Just think of all the other Polk speakers who have decent homes.
    PolkFest 2012, who's going>?
Vancouver, Canada Sept 30th, 2012 - Madonna concert

i would say if all the drivers are in tact or all but a few you can allways just buld new boxes for the drivers. and then you would have a new 10k system.

I emailed the seller and half of the drivers are jarred and the other tweeter busted too. These speaker must be experienced
and intensity 7 earthquick!!! Who knows, crossovers and
other parts inside must be taken apart too.

I emailed the seller too about the drivers, but he hadnt responded, too bad they are all whacked, i thought it might just be a few tweeters to replace. No one in their right mind would buy 10k speakers and treat them like that. They were damaged in delivery or in some other pre-sale fiasco.
