2.1 Million dollars already and he is matching the donation.

He has challenged Harry Reid and the others to also match it, but hasn't received a response.

Don't care where you are politcally, but this is somewhat of an historical event.

That guy is my hero. Whether you agree with his politics or not, he's a great American.

I thought ebay has a policy against charitable auctions? Rush must have got a pass when he told ebay what the sale would likely go for.

yep just noticed that myself. I wonder if the 41 Senators can also claim tax write-offs for writing the letter?

What a great way to tell the senators to shove it!

The cool thing is that that 2 million is actually legit. You need to pre-qualify and prove you can pay before bidding on the auction....

It's a great f-you, and I hope the whole thing brings attention to our government trying to silence private citizens in this manner. It's one thing to have a dialogue, it's another to try to destroy someone for something they never said -- especially when it's the government doing it!

Basically: Rush got a letter condemening him for the phrase "Phony Soldier" which he used to describe people who falsified their service record or were never in the military but claimed they were. (these people then used their "credentials" to witness to the atrocities that the US is "commiting" in Iraq even though they never set foot in the country). The dems thought (somehow) that he was referring to any soldier that disagreed with the Presidents course of action so they ganged up and wrote him a letter of condemnation signed by 41 senators.

Rush is now auctioning it off to benifit a Marine Corps Charity.

Wowee. Everyone makes mistakes and has something in their closet. You have to at least give the guy credit for pulling through that and finally admitting his addiction. I personally don't really like half of what Limbaugh espouses. I also do not have the intimate knowlege concerning his privates that you seem to have.:p

Seriously, some good comes of this, as children of Marines and Fed LE personnel KIA will
    get this money for scholarships.
So, are you willing to put forth a little effort or are you happy sitting in your skeptical poo pile?

Limbaugh was detained for more than three hours Monday at the airport after returning from a vacation in the Dominican Republic. Customs officials found the Viagra in his luggage but his name was not on the prescription, said Paul Miller, a spokesman for the Palm Beach County Sheriff's Office.

I hope he isn't selling the Viagra to school children, getting them hooked, and ruining their lives:rolleyes:
Please. Please contact me a ben62670 @ yahoo.com. Make sure to include who you are, and you are from Polk so I don't delete your email. Also I am now physically unable to work on any projects. If you need help let these guys know. There are many people who will help if you let them know where you are.
    Thanks

Limbaugh's addiction to painkillers came as a result of several years of severe back pain heightened by a botched surgery intended to correct those problems.

This does not excuse his continued use and illegal purchase, but if you knew anything of addiction, you'd hold your tongue.

This happens every year to hundreds of people never intending to abuse drugs (including family I have very near and dear). Get a clue before you use buzz lines you read on the back of US weekly pulled off the side of a dumpster next to the sewer grate you sleep on.

You guys really are amusing. If you go into the hospital for a bad back or to have a surgical procedure, they're more than likely going to give you pain killers. Like millions of Americans who have become addicted in this way, you have a very high chance of getting hooked on them yourself and developing a physical dependancy on them.

This, if you'll remember, happened to Brett Favre, who also came clean and got straightened out right away. Hardly a guy you would call a bad man, of course, he isn't open with his political opinions so you're able to understand.

You act as if the guy was doing crank as a way to get high. Cute, but it just proves you can't actually argue with anything the guy actually says.

Of course, if you drown a women in your car and then flee the scene you can serve as Senator for a few decades. I guess it depends on who you are and what your ideology happens to be that determines whether or not they're worthy of condemnation.

Sounds like a lot of spinning. The guy's worth millions, he had lots of time to clean up at any time. Don’t make excuses for drug use for any person.

What does this have to do with the thread?

Oh, and I believe you were sufficiently owned with the Brett Favre comparison...he's worth millions as well, and I happen to love the guy.

Don’t make excuses for drug use. The use of prescription pain killers is a huge problem in our society right now. Millions of people like my neighbors who have no reason to take them yet I see them pop them. People need to stop rationalizing it and spinning its use. Most of itself medication without pain in the exact same way that Alcohol is used (depressant). Let’s not pretend it’s not a problem. In particular with Rush, who actually had a tract record of acquiring it illegally, let’s not try to spin it down. People need to get over it, he got busted for it, it was illegal and now he’s cleaned himself up. Just be happy for the guy that he’s clean now. But don’t sit around and spin it as being a non-issue because you are a Rush fan.

What? Because people are worth millions of dollars they aren’t drug users? You talk about one drug user and put up another millionaire drug user and say it’s all right?? What??? Dude… your logic “Brett Farve used them so Rush is ok” Half the Trail Blazers have been caught smoking pot... so that ok now because they are millionaires? If they tell you they smoke pot because they have back pain, does that make it right in your eyes? Hell, if a crack dealers gets caught and said “oh, I had a surgery 10 years ago and used crack to deal with the pain”… that’s ok with you?

What do perscription drugs have to do with the thread? Are you trying to downgrade a 4.2 million dollar contribution to the Marine Corp. organization by changing the subject? Let's get that answered before we dismantle the rest of your stupid assed statements.

Uh, for the point of this thread his past/present/future drug use is a non-issue.
