I did a comparison a while back using a Parasound Halo preamp, my Pioneer Elite as a source and a pair of LSi9s. I preferred the Cinenova over a 200wpc ATI but the difference was not very big, actually it was quite a small difference between them. If I had to be blindfolded I don't know if I could tell which was which.

How loud did you go?
Sharp Elite 70
Anthem D2V 3D
Parasound 5250
Parasound HCA 1000 A
Parasound HCA 1000
Oppo BDP 95
Von Schweikert VR4 Jr R/L Fronts
Von Schweikert LCR 4 Center
Totem Mask Surrounds X4
Hsu ULS-15 Quad Drive Subwoofers
Sony PS3
Squeezebox Touch
Polk Atrium 7s on the patio just to keep my foot in the door.
I went ahead and grabbed this. Too tempting, going to replace my Carver TFM-6s with this, and finally have equal amplification on L, R, and C.
Thanks for posting, Keith. I swear, I buy about half the stuff in the area from this thread.
I'm glad someone grabbed that. Way too nice at that price to sit for long.
I was high end auditioning today! I'm gonna have to work a lot more hours!

Nothing but the good stuff in Milwaukee. See the thread in 2 channel.

I have this DAC and like it a lot, I preferred it to the output of my Squeezebox, Onix XCD-88, and slightly over my Pioneer Elite 47ai. A nice upgrade for just over $100.
Most of the listening wasn't to loud, maybe 75-85db? For a little while I listened at the maximum I would listen to just to see if there were any issues with output on any of the amps. We setup in one of the sound rooms and played so loud it was uncomfortable to be in the room, but sounded good in the rest of the shop. The ATI had no issues with these levels.
jusdrink, thats not much of a deal, and I assume it caught your eye because it looks to be yours.
Looking on Agon there are three all of which are below your price. My local audio shop has one used for less then your price, and it comes with a warranty. Hell the last two on ebay went for less then 700 shipped.
I don't mean to sound like a dick but usually it is nice to be upfront and say it is yours instead of saying you "saw one".
everything that goes under 700 for a price on the rotel rb-1080 is older than a year. this amp is less thatn 6 months old. i wanted to see if that was the right price to ask since i do want to give a deal since i have owned polk audio speakers for a long time and sold them more than 6 years.

I never had it like this where I grew up. But I send my kids here because the fact is you go to one of the best schools in the country: Rushmore. Now, for some of you it doesn't matter. You were born rich and you're going to stay rich. But here's my advice to the rest of you: Take dead aim on the rich boys. Get them in the crosshairs and take them down. Just remember, they can buy anything but they can't buy backbone. Don't let them forget it. Thank you.Herman Blume - Rushmore

This seems like a great deal for a mid-powered multichannel. 45 amps is nice current, if it's true. Parsound 1205A for $695obo. Maybe get it for closer to $600 if someone hasn't already claimed it.

Does anyone know how much better this amp is compared to the HCA 1000A that is rated at 125 wpc high current? The 1000A typically goes for around $300. I wonder what makes the 1205A which is rated 140 wpc high current over double the price. I believe the are both John Curl designs. I'm
