    Jeezuz, Scott, are you DENSE?

OK, it took you FOUR months just to give flason back his money and you are advertising the SAME amp AGAIN?. Chuck, good guy that he is, STILL hasn't seen his (and quit with I couldn't get your addy). I'm going to guess that you had to make some sort of downpayment or at the very least pay some sort of registration and taxes. Let me paint you a picture. You are advertising the fact that you can afford a 'new' vehicle while you are **** people out of the money that you owe them. Oh, and you got a new home too. So, in my book, since cashflow is obviously NOT the problem it HAS to be that you are a crook.

If there is another explanation, I'm ALL ears.

Ok, this is my last post on the subject since obviously you have no moral compass whatsoever.

Did you ever tell Chuck that, hey, since I cut you a deal on the amp or the CRS's that we will call the 100 dollars even? I think not, so, regardless of the subsequent deals made. You STILL owe him 100 dollars.

Do you think it is perfectly acceptable to agree to sell something and then back out after the buyer has, in good faith, sent you money (this has happened at least twice) and consider it acceptable to take FOUR MONTHS to pony up the cash and offer it in installments??

Scott, you are trying to defend something that in not defensible here. As I said, you've had multiple opportunities to make ammends but you continue to thumb your nose and insist that you did nothing wrong. To me, that is how a criminal would act.

    Scott,

Let me expand on what others have stated. You have a bad track record concerning the buying/selling of gear on this forum and others. If, as you state you don't have a cash problem then you have no justifcation for your past/present behavior, PERIOD! As has been pointed out to you numberous times, nobody trusts you and that is the bottom line. You made your bed, now sleep in it!

I see this issue as having 4 parts Scott. Furthermore, I believe each part should be public, since this is a public forum, and you wish to continue selling gear here. I am not condoning your previous actions, just looking for the best solution.

    1. Make good on all prior deals. First and foremost.

    2. Apologize for what you did. Stand up, 'be a man' and do it.

    3. Provide some reasoning behind your actions, not that the reasons would justify it, but to help explain why you did what you did, otherwise, it appears as though you were just trying to pull a fast one on fellow members.

    4. Show a *little* remorse. Change your tag line, quit acting so pompus and arrogant regarding the issue(s).

Time will tell the rest of your story here on the forum, but just from one man to another, I think this is your best bet.

    Cheers,

    RESPONSE:
Ahah.... here is the justifiable response (Russman #3) that you were searching for. A little lame... but, it is understandable (to a degree). In short, I can see both sides to the coin.

Regarding #4, I think Scott has shown a little remorse stating that he would like to be accepted back into the forum and that this IS his favorite website/news/chat group.

Regarding #1, Scott feels justified because of the Sunfire and CRS+ deals. Maybe his justified. Maybe not. But, clearly, this is a person-to-person problem and should not be solved by public redicule.

As for #2, I think Scott does owe the group an apology for generally acting like a smartass to a group that is just trying to defend each other from a perceived predator.

See.... it all makes some sort of sense. Personally, I was not offended by Scott... so, I could care less if he apologizes or not. Anyone that has had a carver amp powering a set of 2.3's in his living room deserves acceptance in this forum. He has as much right to be here as anyone else. I will be careful about how I do business with Scott... but, thats generally true with how I do business with everybody (been screwed before). Scott doesn't have perfect integrity. But, at the same time, I don't think he is out to f@#$ just anyone either. Sometimes, people just get caught doing doing something less than admirable. Then, its time to be a bigger person and accept the error as simply an error in judgement. God knows I'm not perfect.

rskarvan, if you feel comfortable doing business with Scott, go for it. Why don't you two work out an exclusive deal where no one else has to see his posts or watch him act like an arrogant little ****. Are you so nieve to believe that it's acceptable to try and say that he doesn't owe the $100 because of the deal on the Sunfire? Had that been the arrangement in the first place, and there wasn't 4+ months of max being dicked around, this wouldn't be an issue.

I welcome every single post from anyone letting others know to proceed with caution when it comes to someone as shady as Scott proven himself to be.

Brett, Naive not nieve. (Of all the words to mis-spell).

Anyway, all I'm saying is that I met Scott and he seemed like a nice enough fellow. Everyone learns lessons in life. Scott is learning his. That doesn't mean that he's a corrupt individual. It just means that his business ethics are quite a bit outside the norm. As for doing business with Scott.... I wouldn't have any problems. I would handle it in person though - Cash & Carry. That being said, I handle virtually every private transaction this way - as it would be naive (note spelling) not to. Scott's error is that he only looks out for Scott. Some people are just this way. Live and learn sort of thing. Yes, its disappointing that some people operate this way. But, who am I to say that my view on life is right and his is wrong. Example: Donald Trump doesn't pay hardly any taxes and frequently backs out or doesn't keep his end of business deals. Yet, he contributes to many charities and does some public good. Go figure.

    BTW,
So he sells me an amp in 1997 and some four years later a deal on CRS (in 2001) and he has the authority to just decide not to fulfill his obligation he agreed to on the CRS? That is a f***ing stupid statement! So what you are saying rskarvin is he could have just kept the $450 and said "well, you know I gave you a good deal 4 years ago" and be absolved? I'll ignore that one. I'm the one who threw that out there because I figured Scott could hold his head high until he came up with the cash. Well, now he has the cash. His head should be hanging pretty low at this point.

One more clue here. He says the CRS were sold to me dirt cheap. I'll let you decide that.

Pair of CRS+ (blade/blade model) in great condition other than some scratches on the bottom. Comes with stands. No SDA cable. $450 (included shipping)

So I take it he is back with his wife now and they are both doing great with a great house and new cars and stuff. Good for you Scott! That makes it even more reasonable that he should catch up with the past. For the record I have never (I don't think) said anything bad about him when he was down. He isn't down anymore.

    Well said MM.

Again, it's not even a question of borderline shady deals. We are talking about things that are not only immoral but clearly illegal.

My point of view is, as a whole, if we don't condemn Scott's actions then we are in essence condoning them. If we turn a blind eye to what he has done, knowing what we know, and he continues to attempt to sell things on the forum. Well, that's the same as an endorsement of the practice in my book.

One more thing. When I received the CRS they were packaged very well. Every thing was great other than the cable was missing and I was $100 short. I guess the thing that really pissed me off is now he goes offering a cable to whoever wants it for free. I don't even need it anymore because I sold the CRS to a friend for $300 and gave him one of my cables. I plan on making a higher quality one for myself. What a slap in the face! Well, so he says "this isn't your cable, it's a different one. I guess the last $100 spent on the truck or the house was a different $100, not mine? I must say, I'm really pissed at this point. I have given away more than $100 on a whim to someone who needs it but I'm not used to being taken. Out of 120+ ebay transactions and 20 some others over the internet with unknown individuals I have never come close to this. Makes me wonder if it wouldn't be better to keep business dealings with people I don't know and send guaranteed funds to a po box with no recourse. What a shame.

Just for reference, I received my CRS+ for $200 shipped, and the seller ordered new SL2000's from Polk, and had them shipped to me. SDA Cable included, total $300 (incl shipping).

    Thanks again Hoosier.

$450 for SDA CRS, with no cable, hardly a deal, imo.

    Cheers,

Jesus Christ, this guy is 100% pure ****, and yet some say "ah come on, give him a break"???

He sold an amp, then says he wants to keep it, he keeps the money till he is good damn and ready to give it back, in the SAME time frame he buys a pair of speakers off Ebay, with the withheld money we can assume.

Makes a deal with Madmaxx and on the CRS's, and still owes him the 100.00, shorted MadMaxx the interconnect cable, and now offers it for free to anyone who wants it!! Oh but Madmaxx it is not yours, it's another one I had, Who is he kidding here?

Posts that **** about his wife leaving, and thats why I screwed you guys, now he is bragging about a new house and new to him 99 Z71.

Posting under 3 different handles here.

Trying to sell the same amp he screwed over somebody here.

But hey let's give him a break??

    Are you retarded or something?

Nope... not retarded.... just don't care much for holding grudges.
Do you really think hassling Scott over his business transactions is going to do ANY good for the people he owes money to? I believe that the ONLY way that Scott will pay them back is if utilizes his conscience. As long as we are ostrasizing (I have no idea how to spell this word) him, he'll always feel self justified in his wrong-doings. So, let him post/ask questions/comment about anything he wants. Feel free to caution newbies about his flea market practices. But, stop the "eff-em" comments - because it does no good. Again, Scott is a dedicated Carver and Polk nut. Isn't that enough to be welcomed to this forum? In my book it is.

In case anybody is wondering why I bother to defend him... I state two and only two reasons:

    1. Scott sold me a nice set of Monitor 10's with original Polk stands at a very reasonable price. He was going to keep them... but, after a little nudging from me, he agreed to keep his word and let me have them for $120. So, whenever I listen to the sweet sound coming from these beloved speakers, I can't help but be reminded that I got an absolutely killer deal from Scott and he kept his word.
    2. He's a Hoosier. We hoosiers stick together. Simple as that.
