Stopped at a couple yardies this morning and got a Polk CS300 center speaker that I don't need, a Sony PCM-501ES digital signal processor that I don't even know WTF it is, and a Made in Belgium, heavy as ****/built like a tank, prehistoric Mahaganavox FD-3030SL cd player. I love these heavy as ****, Made in Belgium Mahaganavox machines.

Any local girls want a center channel? It appears to be in pretty nice shape but I haven't thrown it a signal yet.

Sounds like a fun morning, George.

I have a CS300 mated with 4 x RTA-8Ts in the upstairs HT setup. Very good sonic match.

I might be interested in the center - will you ship if no one around wants it?

It's small enough to do that I guess. Let me see if it even works.

Now we can add a Sony Mini-Disc recorder/player that I don't need, a single AR-4x speaker with intact surround (remarkable), and a cool-man, palm of your hand sized Technics integrated amp that weighs a ton.

That Technics amp isn't the T class one they built is it? (I am thinking right, right? They did make one didn't they?)

No, it says Super Class "A" on it, which I seriously doubt, but you never know.

I used to sell Technics when the "Super Class A" line was popular. They run hot because they are biased slightly higher than a typical unit something about non-switching  It was a long time ago so I'm foggy on the exact details. Nothing special about the design, probably overbuilt and they are nice units for what they are. Sounds cool as hell George, I don't recall ever selling that particular unit. Is it an overseas unit?

The Sony PCM-501ES was for converting analog audio and encoding it into PCM for transfer on tape media, ala Beta. It was high end at the time, but not a real use for it anymore. It's a pretty nostalgic piece for a vintage Sony fan.
CTC BBQ Amplifier, Sonic Frontiers Line3 Pre-Amplifier and Wadia 581 SACD player. Speakers? Always changing but for now, Mission Argonauts I picked up for $50 bucks, mint.

For the record, I am NOT George's Sony (or any other brand for that matter) lover down at the shore.

Carver Amazing Platinum Mk. IV's and AR-9's to start. Those are in my rooms. Stephie has The "New" Advent Loudspeaker in her room. Tiff had KLH Model 6's. Garage rig is using Electro-Voice "Marquis" (which could be replaced with Bozak B-302A's pretty soon). Work/office rig has ADC 303ax.

Let me hear about those CS-99's.

Ain't no Kabuki in this heayuh garage. There are some Dynaco's, and AR's, and Advents, and B.I.C.'s, and more E-V's, and a pair of Blose 301's that I already found a lover for (thank you), and I think there's a pair of Polks in there too.

Last Thursday. I can't have that **** in the house too long due to the possibility of them infecting decent speakers.

Are you looking for something generic to take the place of the Marquis, that don't officially exist?
