I have a pair of SDA-SRS I purchased new in 1987 or thereabouts.
The cloth is a little frayed but otherwise they are perfect. I reupholstered them myself a few years ago, but the weight and quality of the cloth(Radio Shack) is not like the the original. They are too big for my current space.
Any interest, please E-Mail me at:

    Quit HORDING SDA Har, WTF???

Jay, unfortunatley you have the 'black sheep' of the SDA line. Not much interest in these monoliths, but you seem like a decent guy, and being a newbie to the forum and all, I'll help you out and throw down a fresh, crisp C-note for em.

And besides that, my grandad had a pair, and they were destroyed in a fire. He is on his death-bed now, getting weaker by the moment, and he told me his last wish was to have a 2ch rig setup in his hospital room with SDA-SRS's, so he could FEEL Coltrane one last time... I sure wish I could make his dream come true.

I'm getting all welled up thinking about it, I've gotta run...

    Cheers,

Russman don't disrespect the orginal SDA-SRS. They are awsome speakers and you know it. So the 1.2tl has a newer tweeter. Those monoliths are great. I hope you were just giving Jayfinke a bad time. Hell a replacemnt 6.5" driver will cost you over $30 from polk.

They are in Georgia. Could someone give me a
realistic idea of a price range, based on my description ?
Russman, you are extremely amusing, but not very helpful.

    jayfinke,

You would be doing good to get between $800 - $1100 for the pair.

They are the first in the line, but still awesome nonetheless.

Do get pics up when you can, I had a pair and when I got the TL version, I let them go in a rare soft moment.

    Good luck!

    Peace,
    Joe

Thanks, Joe. I will get pics up ASAP. Please, folks, be nice. I only was making an initial probe to see if anyone cared about these giants. For all I knew, they were worthless in this new age. This was my first visit to this site. I am not an "audiophile". I bought them when I was making lots of money, and when my hearing was better. They are way more than I need now.

These speakers are the best sounding speakers, for the money in the world.
You have to spend money on quality amps not junk.
They play all music not just rock, or jazz or suchforth, as many speakers are limited to types of music.
Yes they are big, but those little systems will not compare to the sound of these bad boys when they are coupled to the wall and spiked to the floor.

If I could afford to spend the money for amps and cable right know I would take them off your hands. I would love to have a second pair.

I already have a huge sum into my power and cable.

If you do get the opportunity to get a second pair, be sure they are the "TL" version.

    You won't regret it.

    Peace.
