Receiver or what?

I have a pair of R50 that I used to power with my old Sony Shelf System and they sounded very nice…tight bass. Then, I got a Yamaha HTR-5730 AVR (5.1 chan). I connected that R50s and added a pair of R30s but I could no longer hear the nice tight bass. Then…I got a PSW10 sub…OK there is bass now but the bass is still not as full….It sounds distorted. Why cant my receiver give the power to my speakers…not even in stereo mode???

    Options
    Go through the settings on the yamaha and make sure the mains are set to large. I don't know what the default settings are but it's best to double check Everything.
