...the other night. It was the first dream I actually remembered in weeks, maybe months.

Anyway, I actually dreamt that I had gotten a tubed pre and was hunting for the right tubes to fit it. Pretty crazy. I can't remember any of the specifics.

On a serious note, I was thinking about getting the MF buffer to play with. I figured I could move it pretty easy if it didn't do anything for me, but I also think I need to get off my **** and upgrade my tweeters first.

Aww...come on now!!!....You mean to tell me there ain't no tubes in that there rig???

You NEED to get some tubes in the mix. The tubed pre made more difference in mine than any other upgrade I've done(excluding speakers).

If I upgrade the tweets, I'll certainly take an edge off, at least according to everone here.

On the other hand, I certainly that I've finally gotten my system solidly into the upper third of mid-fi with the Rotel 1072 front end.

Are you running the Rotel analog out or thru the DAC? You might try it on its own....

Right now, I have both hooked up. What I'm trying to do is listen to the Rotel on its own right now. Then swap to the Bel Canto and see what happens...

Tubes take the harshness, if you will, out of an all sand system. Have you ever heard the analytical sound? Or the digital harshness of some CD's? Tubes will help out with that, kinda soften the edges...

At least that's what I've found...

And, yes, if you switch the tweeters, it will take off alot of edge, too.

    ISIG,
Funny, I had the exact same dream while waiting for my cdp. I remember having it sitting on my rack and I was searching for the best 12AU7. I guess we were thinking about audio gear before falling asleep:).

    SComp,
ROTFLMFAO:D:D:D gotta love it when a pretty girl tells you to buy tubes;). Funny how she's telling you to buy "Siemens":D.
