I'm curious! Has anybody done an A/B(C) comparison between comparably priced (reputed) CD players using their own converters and quality analog interconnects.

I have my own preclusions that are totally unjustified except by summing up reviews, conjecture, etc.

Am I missing something?

I did some, and by judging by ears, pretty much depends on which D/A converter is better (CD or receiver), in most cases, the new receiver with outstanding D/A converter sounds better, but you really have to litsen and judge for yourself. With older CD player that has the better quality D/A converter, you should use quality inter-connect cable to get decent result.
