No ;). It actually does help as the directions scroll across the screen. The navigation feature did not infuence my decision to get this HU though. SQ was what I was after. At a later point if I want to go the navigation route I will go with something like these HU's.

im in the market for a cd player as well and i love the way the 880 looks. Cody since youve used it, is it all about the quality or does it have visualizations as well?

If it's anything like its predecessor, the DEH-P860MP (which I have), then it has a plethora of visualizations in the form of 'signal analyzers', backgrounds, slideshows, movie clips, as well as the ability for you to download your own to it.

it has a couple different 'movies' but they are not color like they were with the 860. They still look extremely good though. I really am in love with this deck...lol

I'm never a fan of 'newer' models having less than than what the previous did. I definitely like the clean look of the 880, but I definitely like the color screen of my 860.

i dont consider the screen a downgrade myself, the 880 has TONS more control than the 860. Its a better deck in all aspects.

Ok, I'm tired of having to refer to Pioneer Electronic's website everytime I see this thread to look at the 880. So, here's a pic of it. :p

Cody, what kind of extra control does the 880 give you over the 860?

night and day difference. You have 16 band eqs for the left and right sides. Sub controls have more options for slope. Im EXTREMELY impressed with pioneer this year. Are their decks look great. A lot more options are available and prices have gone down as well. 780 is the same price as the 770 but it now comes with a motorized face and color display. Light years better color display than even the 960 from last year.

More like $2000 MSRP, but you could get it for a little less. Still, I would not spend that kind of dough on a HU. The most I spent on a HU/processor combo was a little over $1k. Probably would not do that again.

Audiobliss, i see you have the DEH-P860MP. When you download to the DEH-P860MP to make your own video clip, background, etc, do you know how big a file it will accept? Would the movie clip be very short and does it hold jpg files for a background or can you show small pics in jpg? I'm guessing in a slideshow it might take several jpeg's but i am guessing very low quality or not many pixels. That looks like a nice head unit.
