This is a pro amp. Now Carver amps in general are a little smaller than comparable amps due to their power supply design, but this amp looks a tad thinner. I am not familiar with how it would perform in a home audio set-up. I would not purchase it until you get confirmation from some people who have used them for this purpose.
Hopefully someone on the forum has had experience, but my gut feeling is this would not be your best option for a home set-up.

Thanks Zen, I think I'll try to get my hands on a DH-500 or 1.5t or M-400t. But the DH-500 doesnt go as inexpencive as the 1.5t or the m-400t.

Would you have any other manufactures in mind, (to keep my eye out for) around the $200 mark with 200wpch or more @4-8 ohms? Something to drive my subs with incase I decide to leave the Hafler on the 7's.

$200 is a little on the lean side for good quality. I doubt you would find a functioning DH500 in that range. Lots of opinions in the forums on good amps. Lots of info can be found using the search function. Here's a quick list, but again if you could push into the $300+ range you'd have better luck.
    Carver
    NAD
    Parasound
    Outlaw
    B&K
    Rotel
    Adcom

    I'm sure I've missed some.
    Good Luck.

If you are only looking to drive subs with the amp the Carver PM350 may fit the bill nicely for that duty. Musical fidelity is not needed for a sub as you are only passing the lower frequency signals.

Bag a used Crown / QSC to run your subs and call it a day.

    Agree...

...and the DH-500 has reliability issues. I would not go that route.

    jm,
I thought you had a 1.5t with a SN in the 7000's in your sights for $200.
    More later,

The A-760 is a nice amp, but be careful on that one. It is missing an input RCA jack and the seller has not tested it other than power up. The seller also has a policy that unit must be verified to be working by the buyer within 48 hours or no return possible.
You would need to find a way to test both channels rather quickly after purchase.
On the bright side if you are handy with things like replacing an RCA jack, and the unit works, you should be able to pick it up below market value.
    Good luck.
