if you put in consideration...the lsi c and the lsi9 are very close to being identical. i mean technically the most difference is the label and how they set...all u gotta do is turn the lsi9 on its side and u got a center channel. i mean theres not that much of a difference... and i dont like dipole or bipole...because i like 4 channel stereo. and i think im gonna change that setup there

    centers : lsi 9
    back surrounds: lsi 9
    front surrounds: lsi7
    mains: lsi15
    subwoofer: 2 m&k mx125
Receiver: yamaha rxv1 with seperates rotel or adcoms going to all channels...im even border than i was yesterday...

Don't put a 9 on your TV that's fer sure :) But yes, they are quite almost the identical speaker.

    The C is very musical.

Is the only reason not to put a 9 on your tv for aesthetic reasons? I don't agree with putting in more money for something that's designated a Center by simply labeling it as such, especially if you can get the same speaker for less as a front..........right?

I'm not sure why he said not to put it on a TV.....The lsi9 is fully shielded, and I don't think it would look much different from the lsiC if you placed the 9 on it's side. If you had a 6.1 system, it would seem ideal to buy a set of 9's and use the spare as the rear center. Just my .02.

When I placed my 9 on my TV as a test, it warped it quite a bit. That was without anything playing. The 9s are shielded, but not as much as a true center channel that is designed to be placed on top of the TV.

lol...i cant believe this post got all this replies when i was bored...you can put the 9 under your tv, in your shelf, on top of your entertainment center, put a piece of wood under the 9 and on top of the tv...lol, i dont care...but i dont see the point of buying a center when u can buy a pair of bs. newayz...im a bookshelf dude...if i were to run an audio company, i'd sale bookshelfs, and only bookshelfs, and just sale stands if someone wanted a floorstander...i cant floorstanding speakers...lol, and the cs245i... is a good center and all, but it in all things, IS NOT VERY MUSICAL! thats my opinion..

No the 245i sure isn't musical. I had one for a few months, and could never run any 5.1 music because it just sounded unnatural....esp since it had smaller drivers than the rest of my setup. The 400i, however, sounds pretty good with everything else, and since I got a pretty good deal on it, and CC didn't have any 35i's left (I got the last two for my rears), I just went with the 400i, and have been quite content with the beast.

Wow, that's probably the worst run-on sentence I've ever written. I guess that's what painkillers will do to you. Don't worry, I have a prescription for them :0]

Yeah they are...the tweeters are located offset in the cabinets rather than in the center like the other polks. It's supposed to give better imaging I think. This wouldn't a problem if you were using it on it's side as a center or rear center.
