Well I finally got my Lsi's setup and calibrated. Take a look if you don't have anything better to do.

    Frank,

Understand you had the rti line before- but if you could, what one thing that musically jumps out at you that separates your LSi's from your last setup?

    Frank Z,

    Very nice set up!

How much difference do you notice in the sound quality from your RT800i's to the new Lsi line?

is there almost NO comparison? night vs day?

    Speaker7,
The Lsi series sounds much better than the RT series in very way. Imaging, especially with an SACD is beyond belief! Not only does the sound stage extend to sides a great deal, but there is also a very distinct depth that I did not heat from my RT800i's. DVD-A playback is also incredible!

    Frank,
Have you tried moving the speakers farther away from the side wall? I would think that would greatly help their sound.

First... I'd love to have a system of this quality, and a dedicated room to put it in.

Since you posted the pics, I have a question (for anyone with an opinion)... I noticed that you have the left main almost blocked in by the fluffy couch. Are you worried that the couch is blocking or absorbing any of the output from the speaker? Also, as far as seating position.. if you're sitting on that side couch, do you still get a balanced stereo image from the fronts? I'd think that position would be dominated by the left front sitting there...?

    Burdette,
The drivers are above the level of the couch so there really is not a problem. As for the sound when you sit on the couch.....I don't let anyone else into the HT! Just kidding. Any serious listening takes place from the two chairs opposite the speakers.

    Aaron,
We like the way that the system looks with the speakers farther out. They are slightly toed-in which really helps.

    Frank,
Nice set up. I can see you did your homework. All quality stuff. How does that sunfire blend with the LSi's?

    Mark,
The sub works great with the Lsi's! I was really impressed with the sub when I auditioned it at the local A/V store. I got it for 1/2 price because it was the store demo and still has the full factory warranty!

When I was calibrating the new setup I found that I could turn the volume up to reference level and had ZERO distortion. A wise purchase me thinks!!

Nice Frank, real nice, what did you do with the RT's ? how long did
you have them before you upgraded ? Why did you pick the bipole
    dipole's instead of LSi9s or Lsi7s ? I believe the Lsi 15s are 4 ohm
are the surrounds/center 4ohms also? I'm planning to change over too. Just wondering !!!

    JmasterJ,
I have a potential buyer for my "Old" RT800i speakers as well as the others that were replaced by the Lsi's.

I decided on Bipole/Dipole speakers for the surrounds after listening to the FX300's when they came out. The Bipole speaker provides for a more envolping sound field for movies and Multi-channel music. I do have the Lsi7's doing rear surround duty though.

You are correct with regards to the 4 ohm rating for the entire Lsi lineup.

If possible go and give a listen to the Lsi's, and bring your checkbook!
