get the 2500 and don't look back. You won't regret it. If you buy the 757, later you might think ...I should of bought the 2500 when I had the chance...avoid that...unless $$ is a tight.

You can't compare this receivers....is other category. The 2500 series has THX surround programs, on screen with GUI, more connections, more power, more DSP programs, every made of aluminium (no plastics !!!) and a lot of things.

The price is more higher...but, definitive far best.
My current new system (step by step :D)

    DVD Player: YAMAHA DVD-S657
    Main Towers: polkaudio® Monitor 50
    Wiring: NeoTecH KS1007 OFC High Definition Speaker Cable ( 2 x 2.64 mm² )

    Seby,

I think ALL the RXV's are aluminum, the HTR series are plastic.

My RX-V1500 has the THX modes, I never use them, mostly just DTS because it sounds better.

When I listen in two channel, I usually bypass the reciever all together, one of my CD players is connected directly to my power amp.

If I do listen to music in 5.1, I prefer DTS Neo 6. But I prefer almost all of my music CD's in 2 channel. Some CD's I listen in "straight" mode, which is the front speakers and sub only, no surround processing.

Ok. I will check this DTS Neo 6 mode. ;) You feel a difference of sound between 2 channel direct stereo to pure direct ????
