I am considering the Rti6's and was wondering if they would sound good with being pushed with just a receiver rated at 100 watts/ channel? Thanks

depends on the reciever quality, but the Rti series isnt a difficult load to drive, so at least give it a shot. shouldnt be a problem.

external amplification would be fine too. its actually easier to blow a speaker with oto little power than too much. dont let the amp clip, or let the speaker distort for any reason volume wise, thats where you get into real trouble.

Onkyo ratings mean nothing. However, the onkyo will suffice.
on that note I recommend getting separates. The rti's dip to around 5ohms around the 800hz and 50-60hz regions- where the power port is tuned.

I noticed a difference immediately, and my H/K puts out just as much power/current as yours-perhaps more. Those onkyo ratings don't mean anyt
