can you use a Y splitter from the dodd to mono amp?

Just like the title says.. can i use a Y splitter from the dodd's left/right out to a single rca cable to the mono in on the amp? just playing around and want to increase the input to the amp

    You need to get a special box to combine the signals. I'll try to find an ebay link.

    did you see the LOL? obviously because i did it and it worked but am afraid after i seen his response... what will it do? UNC has helped me before and i believe him... was just like, your kidding right, opps i did it already type response... calm down there :)

    Yes you can do it. People do it all the time to combine L&R signals for subwoofers with a mono input.

    You sure about that? I thought they had to go through isolation transformers in order to keep from **** up your pre-amp... Unless it's different SS vs tubes?

    edit: I'm not saying it won't work, but the crossing signals would present a weird load for the preamp- I know for some pro-sound things I've done, we feed L-R signals into a combiner box, but you can ghetto rig one w/ a pair of 1:1 transformers.
