Ok so we've established that the USPS is a pretty good way to send stuff. They even have the option of certified mail to ensure delivery.

So back to the original question. Where's our money Scott?!?!

Nothing yet. I had gotten an email early last week saying that he sent a check, never got it. I gave one last chance to send something via western union, certified mail, or some other way to verify that something was sent. I got the 4th or 5th email saying he's sending the sub. I'm expecting a UPS or FedEx tracking number tomorrow. If I don't get it then I'm gonna have to call my lawyer, and his local authorities.

Sux that things have to get this way. If I get it then I'll let y'all know. If not... then we'll see how things go.

Use a postal money order and mail it. No goods or refund = mail fraud. The post office takes this very serious. Turn it over to them and they will pursue it and do all the work for you.

I just got an email from Scott with a UPS tracking number saying that the sub was shipped. I'm finally a happy man (at least will be once I recieve the sub in like new condition as it was advertised)

It seems like Scott is really trying to make good on things. Now lets see if the other two people that he owes get their goods.

Maybe, but this time I have a tracking number so by this evening or tomorrow morning at the latest, I'll be able to tell if he's lying. At this point I believe him because he provided a tracking number - and he knows what the consequences are if he's lying again.

I just got the psw-250 about two hours ago, been playing with it ever since. :)

It wasn't quite in the condition that Scott had said it was in, but it's not in bad shape either. I guess it's worth what I paid.

So yes, after uhm... 6 or 8 weeks and a big hassle I finally got it. Thanks.

Gee, Scott, considering the hassle you put folks through, I thought phuz was pretty charitable in his description.

So much for deleting that profile, eh?

Scott chill out. You said "mint condition" - it isn't mint. There are a couple of small scuffs on it, and the cardboard on the surround portion of the sub is coming off. It *is* in "good" condition, but not "mint." Maybe it happened in shipping, but I doubt it. Maybe you don't know what "mint" condition means, who knows. For future reference, "mint" basically means brand new - pretty much right of the assembly line.

I don't mean to nit pick, I'm just being honest. I wouldn't have even brought it up if you had taken care of this in a timely efficient manner but now I'm just laying my full experience out on the table to warn anyone else. I think that's fair.

As I said before, I don't mean to be slanderous... just honest. I'm typically a nice, passive guy who lets a LOT slide - but I never lay down and take it up the rear with no vaseline. So if I can help keep someone else from having the same experience that I had... then I'll do it. Sorry, but I'm sure everyone will agree that it's fair. Deal with it, just like I've delt with you trying to get my subwoofer for the last 6 or 8 weeks.

I'm happy now that I have it. No big deal. Chill out, have a beer, stfu, and man up to any future deals (as well as the past ones that you still owe). It's that simple.

    Here let me rephrase that.

"Yes, it's deffinately worth what I paid if not more. It's in better shape than any 'floor model' that I've ever seen and I got it for less that CC asks for their floor models!"

    Better?

I'd have to agree with phuz....
mint means right off the assembly line without a scratch.
Dust and finger oil are ok for mint - as, that will clean up to mint.

The term "mint" comes from coin collecting.
A mint coin is better than normal production.
It has the pristine honor of never being touched with human hands. A mint coin is encased in plastic so that it can not oxidize.
Mint is better than new. Mint means the exterior box from Polk looks brand spank'n new - not even scuffed by UPS.

Mint is the best of the lot of speakers off the production line.

Being new to this forum this kinda scares me. Did you ever get your money back or the equipment. What is the safest way to purchase off of this forum? Should I be just looking at buying equipment in driving distance of my home?

I would say search threads in the Flea mrkt from the seller, and email people that have completed transactions...

For the most part, everyone here is straight forward, and honest.... Never be afraid to ask for references.... A good seller will have them, and happy buyers will endorse them...

    Cheers,
    Russ

Russ said it best. Don't worry too much. This is really just a few isolated incidents with one particular seller. I would say that 99% of the people around here are good people.

Search the forums, and ask for references. Even ebay is risky, but millions of people take that risk every day, and 99% of them work out great.

    Welcome to the forum. :)

61 days and still nothing. I sent an e-mail with my address again, and Scott told me I e-mailed the wrong address(it was 10 streets off). I did have my address on the envelope I sent as well as written on the money order and there isn't an 1121 on 22nd ave, just on my street, 32nd ave. The mail goes through the same mail station, and the mail handlers know me too (I use to work at that station). But I will still give Scott the benifit of the doubt and chalk it up to my mistake by fat fingering my keyboard. How 'bout it Scott? I will take responsibility for my mistake and I will apologize if thats what it takes to get my money. I have e-mailed you since the 11th without response!

Linda, I firmly believe that Phuz and my transaction are the exception and not the rule on this board. This is a mostly great group of people that like to talk audio and a little smack every now and again. They have been very supportave to me in my efforts to retrieve my money and I wanted to say Thanks to all.

I have made dealings with two sellers on this forum, criverajr and Peterng.

Both experiences went great. The items were as described.
From what I have seen in this forum, The norm is good dealings.
All of the good dealings go unnoticed, the Bad few gets lots of notice.
