Has anyone had any experience with the group named the "Gorillaz"? I saw a video from them on VH1 last night and I was intrigued. I'm not sure ,yet if I liked it or not, just intrigued.
It was sort of a surreal video mixing animation, cgi and live people. Had a good beat and real musicians. Anyone????

They've actually been around for a pretty long time (for today's standards anyways...) I've never given them a serious listen, but what I have heard is actually pretty decent.

I liked a couple tracks off their last album. Not the new one, but the one from a few years ago. Especially the track with Del tha Funkee Homosapien.

Gorillaz are good, at least their older stuff was. Incredible bass!
This song slams...
"Clint Eastwood"
I ain't happy, I'm feeling glad

I think the video was for the song "Feel Good, Inc.", or that might be the album title, I'm not sure. Does that sound right?"SOME PEOPLE CALL ME MAURICE,

Do you mean they're slamming Clint or that it rocks? Remember I'm 38. I know most of the newer lingo but not all."SOME PEOPLE CALL ME MAURICE,

I just saw this song on MTV I think, this would be from their new CD.
The old one was awesome.- Not Tom ::::::: Any system can play Diana Krall. Only the best can play Limp Bizkit. -

I thought so, I couldn't support a group that would have the balls to "SLAM" my man Clint:p ."SOME PEOPLE CALL ME MAURICE,

Listening to there new album as I type. Not very deep into it yet. But what I have heard so far is very good. I liked "Clint Eastwood, but was never intrigued enough to listen to any of their other stuff, that is until I heard "Feel Good Inc." which is a very good song. So far they remind me of Cake.Setup:

Cake, you just hit it. That's who their sound reminds me of. I dig Cake alot, especially "Fashion Nugget". Thanks for reminding me of who they sounded like. Freakin' Cake."SOME PEOPLE CALL ME MAURICE,

The first Gorillaz album is pretty cool. I've never heard their most recent one. The Blur singer is the guy who got them started. There is some tremendous bass and some really cool grooves on their debut CD."I got into the music business thinking it was really radical, that it wasn't really a business at all, that it was a lot of people being artistic and creative. Not true, and it made me very depressed."

I picked up their 2001 self titled release along with the new one, last night. They really get the monoblock going to the sub a little on the warm side to say the least(truck's system). I'll need a little more time with them to make a final "keep or karma" decision.;)"SOME PEOPLE CALL ME MAURICE,

I started reading this thread and when I read the OP watched a video on VH1 I immediately went to the date. Yup. Necropost.Gustard X26 Pro DAC

They do have an interesting discography. I'm not all that fond of the newest album though. Damon Albarn is perhaps one of the most innovative musicians of Gen X.See profile for rigs. Nothing else here.
