    Yea,
The built in speaker xover should take care of the rest. The next step would be to use an external xover but it is not necessary and only buys you a little cleanliness. What is really cool is that since you use one channel for midbass and the other for treble you keep much more power supply overhead on tap for whatever needs it. (normally the midbass gets it) The system should sound quite different on dynamic passages and give you a cleaner more detailed overall sound. Some material will still sound the same. You will notice that some of the stuff that used to sound good will still be good but stuff that used to be just ok may now surpass what used to be the best. (if that makes any sense. (you have to watch all your old stuff again)

Did you get 3 of them? L R and Center? Receiver for surround? That would be great. A fourth for both surrounds would be even better. Good luck!

Yep, I bought 3. One for each of the fronts. I'll let the receiver work the surrounds for now. Didn't have enough coin for a 4th. Looking forward to hooking these things up.

So, was my bi-amping comment above the correct way to do it?

Yes Ron, it is right on the money. You are going to be thrilled, I just know it. But if for some odd reason you aren't, I'll take one off your hands, and I think Troy will also...

Man, it's gonna be GREAT. Outside of sound, think how cool your rack is going to look now....

    Cheers,

Thanks Russ, I really am excited about getting these. If it will sound anything like you guys say, I should be one happy audio camper.

Thanks for the offer on taking them, but hey, no worries. Of course, if I do sell them, you guys will get first dibs.

I may seek you guys out when these arrive for hook up advice. Thanks again you guys for your help.

signalcable.com Make sure you tell Frank that you are a 'Club Polk' member, so you can get the discount I negotiated with him....

It's a one man shop, so he may not reply right away, but he is great to deal with. All the cables are custom, you may want to enquire about a custom 'Y' interconnect.

    Cheers,
    Russ

    Ron,
Keep us informed. Did he get the check? Have they shipped yet? When do you expect them? This is cool. You are in for a world of surprise when you hook them up. Separates are the only way to go. I think we will be seeing another receiver on ebay very soon!

Not local, but close. He is in San Fran, I am in Huntington Beach, about a 14 hour drive or so. He is shipping them via FedEx, 2-day ground.

I mailed out the check Saturday morning. I expect he'll get the check Tues., or Weds. at the latest. The day he gets it, he'll ship that same day. So, I should see them by this Thurs. or Friday, if all goes well.

I am very excited. Glad you guys (esp. Russ) for posting the link and talking me into buying them. Can't wait to get them all wired up. I'll post my findings after a good solid weekend of movie watching/music listening.

I doubt I'll ever sell my Marantz, I love the thing. It will power my surrounds for awhile, until I can land a 4th amp and then a pre-amp.

Ron, if you don't hear a difference, you might want to look into some Q-Tips and clean those Potatoes out of your ears.....

The wait is killing me. They are in Sacramento right now.

Gotta go out and pick me up some cables right now. Frank does not make 'Y's. So is the Monster $4.99 'Y' any worse than that of the $14.99 'Y'. Which should I get?

I tried some cheap Y's from CC. I thought it was fine but one day they had some on sale for about $20 each and I was feeling a little "rich" that day so I bought them. It turns out the cheapies were really strangling the system. The better MC ones REALLY made a difference. Lesson learned: Get the best ones you can find.

Good to hear, that is what I did. Bought the good ones. BB is having a 10% off sale on all their cables and surge protectors if you buy in any combo of 4. I bought 3 'Y's and 1 set of 3m interconnects.
