Even when you think you know someone on this board, beware. After several mailings asking about the equipment, I sent a check for $352 on April 17th to wangotango68, aka Scott Trigg, for the Carver amp he was selling on this board. I trusted him not only because of his speedy replies, but because he had 600 posts on this board, prior selling on the board, and folks bustin' his balls (joking around with him). He said it took a week for the check to arrive, so I took the delivery delay with no suspicion. He then said he was driving his truck again so he delayed a week to send the piece. He then said while he was packing the amp, his wife told him not to sell the amp and he would send me a refund. He said he sent a check to me on May 11th and I have been e-mailing him every few days inquiring about the money. Last mailing came back to me as undeliverable. Looks like he closed his account. To say I'm a little pissed is an understatement. I hate getting ripped off. The money wont kill me but I still am a single father raising 2 kids on my own and the only thing I get from the ex is a rash of crap.

I've delt with another person from this board and Tyrone Thompson is great people. He was honest and shipped before my check even arrived to him. I feel that a lot of other people on this board have the same qualities of Tyrone. Unfortunately, Scott doesn't appear to be one of those people. I gotta hope that this is just a giant misunderstanding and my money could still arrive, but 6 weeks later and no e-mail, I gotta wake up and smell the coffee.

I'm sure its all a big misunderstanding.
I bought a pair of Monitor 10's off Scott without any problems.
Hoosier21, Russ, has sold/bought/traded many Polk speakers with Scott also. I've met him. He seems like a nice enough fellow. I'm sure he's just very busy.

I know this doesn't fix anything, but wodom1, I have an Carver m200t I might be able to work with you on (cheap-cheap), if need be. I don't want to give it away, I don't even want to sell it period, but if it turns out you have taken a loss already, I can absorb some with you, you seem like a decent guy.....

Hopefully we will see Scott do the right thing here.......

    Cheers,

Okay, folks. Mike just brought this to my attention and I just emailed Scott to see if something could be done. I thought Scott was a pretty good guy, but I can see I may have been wrong. Mike, please keep this thread updated on the story and let us know what happens. Scott, man, play nice with us, won't you?

Caveat emptor. Sorry for the hassle here.

    >>> Good equipment is difficult to part with - believe me, I know.
(As polk sda seems to play a major part of the decor in my home).

Damn his wife really loves that amp.

    >>> Can you blame her? I am sure Scott knows enough to TRY to keep his woman happy. Note: this is often (generalized) a nearly impossible task - but, like good audio, continual tweaking and experimentation yield the best results.

No matter how you slice it, there's no excuse for this. It's been nearly a month and a half (exactly 41 days). He could have driven the freakin' amp across the country and back by now and still had time to take a vacation.

I was keeping hope alive, but that has disappated now that my e-mail comes back as undeliverable. I really appreciate your offer Russ and will consider it. It's the good people here that really make this board worthwhile. Thats what keeps me, even though I don't post as often as I should, coming back. Thanks to all for the support.

Aaron I am not making excuses for him, (did I?), I am not the happiest camper right now with Scott, but that is my problem.

Scott has a new email address v10roar@msn.com, not sure what one you have.

I just met with Scott and his wife on Sunday. He hand delivered the SDA's he'd just sold me. No problem here. I have to admit, at first I was suspicious because I called and emailed and got no replys. He finally called and explained he was busy with work. Just my opinion for what it's worth. By the way, he is in Ft. Wayne and I am west of Indianapolis. (about a 2 1/2 hour drive)

I just might take you up on that phone #. If you search my posts, I never said a bad word about Scott. I am sure your transaction was the norm with him and mine was the exception. I do question his integrity with THIS transaction, but there has been no name calling. He said in a past e-mail to me that he never would screw over anybody. But since I haven't heard from him nor have I seen the check he was suppose to have sent on May 11th, I have to wonder what happened. I would really feel like crap if he was hospitalized, but since you saw him on Sunday I'm guessing thats not the case.

I have been waiting patiently to hear from Scott regarding a PSW-250 for which which I sent $145 (money order) about 6 weeks ago. Several times I have heard him say "I'll send it on Monday" - he's used the same driving excuse with me. I know that it doesn't take this long to drop something off to be shipped no matter what your job is.

I had planned on waiting a bit more before I brought this to the board, but since it's being done already...... heh.

Whoever has his phone number, if you could please email it to me at phuz@txraves.org I would greatly appreciate it.

    flason,

I have his # now. Email me or leave your email address because I don't wish to post on public board. I already gave it to the other individual who requested.

I should restate my postition just in case:
I don't wish to be caught in the middle of a witchhunt. I am only providing #'s because I would hope anyone would do this for me if I was in this situation. I don't wish any disrespect for Scott, as far as I am concerned he is on the up and up.

I really don't consider this a witchhunt. I have mail supporting the fact that he received the money, as well as the receipt for the money order, and that he supposedly mailed me a check on 5-11. It looks like he is in to me and phuz for almost $500. I don't want to put you in the middle of this thing, but you offered the number. I hope this won't jepordize your friendship with Scott. This wouldn't be my intention. I would have hoped that bringing this up to the board would light a fire under his feet and get him to steppin' (mailing) with the money.
