christmas presents get a duct tape cacoon, no box...

I like duct tape... wait till you see the NAD pakacing, I use 'braces' to suspend it from the sides of the box with foam blocks on the end touching the NAD (of course)...

I am low on packaging, this is why, around the NAD, I will fill it with newspaper...

With as much clearance as it has, it will be FINE I think...

    BOMB!!!

Dude, find a smaller box and some foam peanuts. Get rid of the bracing! Or get some styro insulation from Home Depot to use. Stuff is pretty cheap and works like a charm. That pic scares the hell out of me and I'm not even the recipient.

Got the M.O. Will send out in the A.M. Nice to see a good packing job. I got a receiver off E-bay last year that arrived just dropped in a cheap box. It looked like road kill when I got it. Nice thing about getting stuff here is all the folks care about how it gets there.:) :)

i like it when people use foam blocks for packing material. not as messy as peanuts. those foam peanuts can be expensive.. so can bubble wrap. but only the best for my buyers. :D

I don't charge buyers extra for bubble wrap or peanuts or any materials. I eat the cost myself. it's worth it, for my stuff to arrive safely. I learned the hard way. one time skimping on the box and packing materials. never again i said.

Don't forget to write "FRAGILE" somewhere on the box. The UPS, FEDEX, DHL, & USPS employees are always more careful when they see that.

Yes, they take much more care to throw the box about in a random manner, often also ensuring that the box is placed in the truck in such a way that it is assured to fall to the floor, bouncing off of multiple layers of other boxes on its way, at the first hint of movement.

That is bar none the worst looking packing job I've ever seen.....you should be embarrassed to post those pictures.

I imagine you are just making the best use of what you have available. Save the Earth man.

Why did you bother posting pictures anyways?

I still don't see "FRAGILE" written anywhere Sid. Try adding "HANDLE WITH CARE" - that will almost certainley guarantee its safety. ;)

The packaging is solid, regardless of what they say...lol, the box didnt even flex without the foam blocks, packing peanuts, etc around the unit, much less with it all stuffed in there...

I am even going to add reinforcement pieces like I did for the Adcom box to ensure it to get there...

Each unit will ship 1 or 2 days after M/O arrives.

Thanks for the purchases guys, yall will enjoy the unit...

I think this thread can come to a close though...

And Bose has some pretty good packaging, I am using a Bose foam block and Bose impact resistant plastic...pretty nifty, I find it interesting that the 'bose box' is unmarked... (yes, it is being shipped in a Bose box)

All Bose packing, and Monster Cable cardboard is complimentary of Dan (Mantis)

I hate to break it to you, that amp is in the *same* condition as it was when it got here...

Infact, *NOTHING* have been stacked on top of that amp, period, end...

1st placement - On top of the Adcom amp stack
2nd placement - Behind the system on the floor, elevated off the floor
3rd placement - In the den on top of the NAD

I handle *ALL* of my gear with the utmost respect, any scratches or scuffs it received was done by past owners. Whether it was you or the person that had it before you. I didn't do any of that crap...It wouldnt be hard to fix regardless, a lil paint once over would fix it all..

Now, as for my packaging - that is the way I do it. It is cheaper than double boxing and uses way less packaging materials which I already use enough of, and infact - have ran out. I have *NO* packaging materials left in the house, garage, or attic...I dont care how a box looks outside or inside, you may care - but I honestly dont. My thoughts are, how can I package this to get there and do it without wasting everything I have...

Well, thats my way, braces, reinforcement pieces all over the box, bubble wrap, foam blocks, newspaper (if need be) - or 400-500 plastic bags jammed in there to fill in the gaps... - whatever it takes to get it there...

Maybe yall forget I'm a kid...and I make as much as any other kid, NOTHING - I no longer have a weekly pay of any kind, but I hope to change that - so any thing that comes out of my pocket donst 'quickly' replinish itself...I do what I can

Now all of you can go eff yourselves ;)

Pull up my post ****, on that same amp. You've got a BAD BAD flash, or some such. I wouldn't even offer up an amp that looked like that, seriously.

Let me find the pics, I may still have them.

Not dogging you Sid, wait, yes I am ;). That pic is just WACKED.

    Cheers,
    Russ

    I found your thread

The post is of the amp with the top off...

The flash magnifies the 'scratches' which are gray scuffs on the top of the amp...

It IS not a big deal, I even brought the amp out of the packaging again and brought it in my room which has 8 light bulbs in it and looked at it again, its not THAT bad...

http://clubpolk.polkaudio.com/forum/showthread.php?s=&threadid=15044&highlight=Adcom - for all curious what the Adcom looks like with the top off, here is the thread...

I take regular care of my gear, I clean it all weekly, and take the whole system down even 6 or 7 months for a complete cleaning...

Anything moved is moved so that it dosnt eff with the other. If I treated my gear like that, I wouldnt be willing to spend over 300 dollars to fix up my speakers that arrived damaged...
