Trim rings on the Legends
Options
Hello. First post and a question. How do I remove the trim rings around the drivers and tweeters? I want to tighten them just a bit, as I have done on some of my other speakers, many of which loosen a bit in the first few months of use. Thank you for the help.

Good timing on this question as I would also like to check my drivers as it's been around 3 years since I bought them.Yep, my name really is Bob.

Midwoofer trim rings attaches "like a grill with pegs". Looks like maybe quan. 6 pegs? If you want to be careful I'd apply painter's tape to the baffle to prevent marring it with any prying tools and try first off to use a thin plastic spatula or putty knife or the like. @VR3

Nice phake plug.
And not to be overly critical (oh ok maybe a little) but look how they weakened (made less stiff) the baffle lip by making 6 large cutouts in it for those beauty rings. I mean they may help with diffraction but is the cost too high? Still only 4 screws coupling to the baffle and I'm betting the steel is thinner than our vintage baskets.George / NJ

The ends of the beauty ring pegs are ball shaped like a grille peg. You can see how this one was damaged in the removal process by whatever tool was used to pry them out. This one is from an R500. I don't know if there was design variation in the legend models.
