Recommended Speakers for $400 budget

Hello everyone. I have a singular SDA 2A, which isn't super helpful for a proper setup. I want to get another for a full set, but it's proven not super feasible in regards to finding a singular right channel. I liked the sound of it but when searching for SDA 2s I haven't had luck on anything near me. As such, I'm thinking of pivoting my focus to a separate set of speakers.
My plan is to have them in my living room connected to a receiver with a record player, DVD player and TV, so I'd prefer they be good for music as well as just general audio. At a budget of $400, what good tower speakers, or bookshelf speakers if they're good for a more open slightly larger living room, would I be able to look into?
My local is St Paul, MN, and I'm fine with secondhand speakers, but those prices tend to fluctuate and depend on whether they're actually available near me, so I get that that may be harder to recommend.
