Any one seen this? Not sure how it would be any better than a clamp.

The mat looks interesting as well.

    The mat does looks interesting.

I've tried a few different mats on my Lenco idler drive. On the Lenco, a narrow idler drives the bottom of the heavy alloy platter, not the inner edge. Mine has a larger custom, no leak stainless platter bearing and aftermarket idler. The best mat so far has been the Boston Audio Mat-1, 3mm thick graphite acquired in 2008 or 9. It's still in use. Later they offered a Mat-2, 5mm thick. Lenco L75's were originally supplied with a 4mm thick rubber mat.

Of interest, Tom Fletcher of Nottingham Analogue turntables used a 1" thick graphite matt on their high-end Dais (early 70's-80) and later Hyperspace, AnnaLog turntables. They offered that mat as a separate upgrade for their other tables, ~ $1600 retail IIRC which included the thick graphite element, spindle extension, and armboard spacers.
