Yep! The Triumph x19 cost me a job at an import auto repair joint. Those things drove like slot cars....... UNTIL they didn't. When they let loose just grab the bottom of the seat rails and hang on until it stops.

Called the Katsugyo Bag, this portable aquarium was developed in Japan to transport live fish while keeping them alive with oxygen monitoring.

It was designed for both pet fish and fresh seafood and for emotional support fish.

(I don't like this idea; it hits me the wrong way. I added the last reason designed. Maybe I should have put in the "What are you cooking" thread?)

@BlueBirdMusic - Harry, that fish thing makes me feel claustrophobic! I'm not typically claustrophobic. The fish doesn't seem alarmed, however. No fearful expression or anything.

I thought that was a fancy canister vacuum at first glance.

the "Philco ad" is even betterer in its original full color splendor.
Not that any of the components are from Philco...

The loudspeaker is a Jensen Duette -- not a bad little two way at all. Jensen P8RS "woofer" and RP-103 compression driver with exponential horn for the "tweeter" (treble driver)
The amplifier might be from Bell. Not entirely sure, but judging by the iron on it, it's probably pretty capable. I'm guessing maybe push-pull 6L6 outputs.

The Eagle Kachina, or Kwahu, represents strength, power, and acts as a sacred messenger to the heavens.

In Hopi tradition, the eagle is the ruler of the sky and serves as an intermediary carrying human prayers to the creator. Connects the physical world with the spirit world, carrying hopes, dreams, and prayers upward because it flies higher than any other bird.

I sat and stared at this amazing print of the Eagle Kachina. It is so relevant to the happenings on Earth today.

Some days bring surprises regarding things that you have learned to really like over the years.

I was reading an email from the Booth Western Art Museum in Cartersville Georgia which is about 30 miles north of Marietta. Under current exhibitions was "The West in Focus: Indigenous People", through August 23, 2026. In the latest installment of the series, this exhibition will feature photographs by Native American photographers and Native Americans as the subject.

On my first trip out west and to the Arizona Bank in Phoenix in the mid 1970's, I fell in love with the art of the Hopi Indians especially the Kachina dolls. The logo of the Arizona Bank was the Morning Kachina.

During my visit, I was gifted a portfolio of seven Hopi Kachina prints produced by the Arizona Bank and artist Bruce Timeche (1923-1987), a Native American from the Hopi tribe. The prints were based on the Kachina Dolls in the Arizona Bank collection.

Arizona Bank ceased to exist in 1986 when purchased by a larger financial corporation eventually part of B of A.

The Antelope Kachina (Tsup Kachina) -- prayers for rain, the growth of grass, and the abundance of antelope herds

IBM MAINFRAME COMPUTERS

The best-selling IBM mainframe family of all time was the IBM System/360, introduced on April 7, 1964.

The IBM System/360 completely transformed the computer industry and became the foundation for every IBM mainframe architecture that followed. Within its first month, IBM received more than 1,000 orders — far beyond expectations — and the System/360 went on to dominate the worldwide mainframe market.

The image shows the system control panel (often referred to as the front panel or maintenance console) of the IBM System/360 Model 50, along with its operator input printer. It controls a room full of peripheral equipment.

The IBM 360/50 typically had between 64 KB and 512 KB of magnetic core memory. A high-end 512 KB Model 50 had 0.0005 Gigabytes of memory.

A modern smartphone with 8 GB of RAM has roughly 16,000 times more memory than the maximum configuration of this entire room-filled machine.

Notables

The first System/360 machine (a smaller Model 30) was delivered to the McDonnell Aircraft Corporation.
The first System/360 Model 65 was delivered to Massachusetts Institute of Technology (MIT).
The most notable System/360 Model 75 installation was Mission Control of NASA with five Model 75 computers at the Real-Time Computer Complex in Houston

IBM MODELS
Among individual models, the System/360 Model 30 is generally regarded by historians as the best-selling IBM mainframe ever. IBM never published complete shipment figures by model, but industry historians agree that the Model 30 outsold every other System/360 model because it was:
* The lowest-priced member of the System/360 family.
* Ideal for thousands of small and medium-sized businesses.
* Widely adopted by universities, hospitals, manufacturers, and government agencies.
* Available for many years with numerous upgrades.

For perspective, the most significant IBM mainframe families were:
* System/360 (1964) – The best-selling and most influential family ever.
* System/370 (1970) – Also extremely successful, building on the 360 architecture with virtual memory.
* System/390 (1990) – Kept the architecture thriving through the client/server era and the rise of the Internet.
* IBM zSeries / System z / IBM Z (2000–present) – Today’s descendants of the original System/360 architecture.

Although the Model 30 sold in the greatest numbers, the System/360 Model 50 is often remembered as the “sweetspot” of the line because it balanced price and performance so well.

Many large commercial data centers standardized on the Model 50 before eventually upgrading to the 65 or 75. The 65 and 75 models were high-performance, large-scale computers in the System/360 lineup. The Model 65 delivered more than triple the raw performance of the Model 50. The Model 50 processed data in 32-bit (4-byte) chunks. The Model 65 used a much wider 64-bit memory path and a 56-bit Arithmetic Logic Unit (ALU), allowing it to handle heavy double-precision math in a single CPU cycle.
