    Jfc, that exhausts me just looking at.
    Is he charging $15k, or paying it to take them away? I think I'd abandon that storage unit.

    probably a couple of good tubes mixed in -- but, e.g., ca. 18,000 of the 100k are probably 1B3 HV rectifiers from the days of black & white (CRT) TV, worth... in aggregate... about 79 cents. :#

    Looking at the photo above: E.g., if the box of 866A is actually a box full of (seven, per the label) 866A tubes... and most of them are good... it wouldn't be a bad thing to have). ;)
    We won't think too hard or for too long about the total amount of mercury in that box. :#

    You know this is a great example of how people don't really understand how a business works and why at 15k if it's worth 100k it still isn't a good deal.

    Every single one of those tubes need to be properly inspected, tested, cleaned up, boxed, photographed, listed etc etc etc

    Talking hundreds of man hours let alone "profit".

    Plus you have to value in the unknown. Does he have a list? Is it all mystery

    5k tops on a good day to me

    Right on the money Trey. Heck they could be well used pulls from who knows what. I'm guessing 30% would be of use to someone. They rest are garbage.

    the 3A3 is the color TV HV rectifier equivalent of the 1B3, and only ever-so-slightly less worthless.

    Yes, as stated. In aggregate, they're not worth too much -- and the odds are that not in aggregrate (i.e., cleaned, tested, etc. as mentioned earlier), they're still... not worth too much.
    I mean, if you have nothing better to do with $15k, and feel like making the trip... with a truck.

    Clearly this isn't something a hobbiest would want to deal with, but Kevin Deal or some other tube seller might swoop in and buy them. A few months later, there is some "fantastic" NOS find that they are gushing about and selling at their website for $150+ each. I'm sure they would negotiate down from the $15K price. Someone is just trying to get back their revenue stream for that storage unit.

    $5K tops for a dealer the size of former Brent Jesse or Kevin Deal. But if I were them, I'd get eyes on them and go through a bunch just to see if it was even worth $5K. Old TV tubes aren't worth much. Only for novelty use.

    A general consumer like us tube enthusiasts would NOT likely come close to being head on a purchase like this.

    Or they could be like Richard Rawlings buying Classic cars, unseen, for too much money.....lol.

    I think the two hundred price is fair considering all the unknowns.
    Seller is not trying to work at all with this mass amount or he would have sorted or tested at least some of this mess.

    Speaking of TV tubes, I recall happening upon a lot of tubes locally that included the 40KG6 horizontal output tubes (with top anode connection). McAlister (amp manufacturer in Canada) was all excited about it but I couldn't broker a favorable deal.
