Who has them, what model, and what are your thoughts?
I have never owned one, but I bounce in and out looking at them from time to time..
I know they get praise, but would rather hear from you here..

I use the SA-14S1 in my office rig. I added the 5mm thick top cover from the Marantz SA-14S1SE model, which was not available in the USA, because the cover looks better.

Of course, I purchased a spare traverse and tray belt because as BDT will tell you, I plan ahead.

I love every aspect about it, period.

Coincidentally, a review of the Marantz SACD 10 just landed at Darko.audio. US $14,000!

I had a SA-14S1 a couple of years ago but sold it as I really moved to streaming and vinyl. I still have the Oppo but that is in a secondary system. The SA-14S1 is a nice piece of equipment if you are not trying to stretch into the upper upper tier.

By all accounts from folks I know that have one, it's stellar.

I had the Marantz flagship as of around 7 or so years ago. Loved it while I had it. It was a great player until it stopped playing SACD's.

No replacement. No repair. It is the SA-7S1. If you want to hear what it sounds like (CD only) , make me an offer.

It doea have a DS DAC, which I do not prefer myself, BUT, it did take one heck of an investment to better it.

There are a multitude of sources for a replacement optical pickup for the SA-7S1. The part is called the HOP-1200W-B.

I had a SA-8005 (I think that’s the correct model)and I loved it. Sold it to Harry @BlueBirdMusic a couple of years ago.

I've had a Marantz SA-8004 for many years. No issues with it.

Prior to owning that I had several different universal players from Denon and Sony that played SACD but none sounded as good as smooth as the Marantz. I also had several Oppo universal players which are just ok for analog audio.

There is a current relatively inexpensive Sony 4K player that plays SACD. That is the UBP-X700U model. There are no analog outputs so DSD is delivered to a receiver/processor via HDMI cable. That's how I have a couple Oppo players connected in home theater systems to good effect. It gets more complicated trying to run DSD over HDMI to an external DAC.

Only Marantz SACD player I have is a dv-9600.
It’s a universal player and really like it’s sound.
It was a $2k unit when new. Have always wanted Marantz higher-end units but haven’t even had the chance to audition one.

Have been trying to land a Marantz UD9004 universal player, prices aren’t in my reach.
The 9004 is supposed to be excellent playing SACD’s.
