Still going after all these years!

On August 23rd, 1954; the Four Engine WhisperProp, HerkyBird, The Proud Bird With The Camouflaged Tail, A Glorified Garbage Truck, The Herky Cannonball, and a few others we can't list, also known as Lockheed C-130 Hercules first took flight in Burbank, California. While the prototypes were built there, the ongoing, historic production of the C-130 was moved in 1955 to Lockheed's plant in Marietta, Georgia.!
A four-engine turboprop military transport aircraft designed and built by Lockheed, the C-130 was originally designed as a troop, medevac, and cargo transport aircraft. The Georgia line has built and delivered more than 2,700 C-130 aircraft to over 70 operators worldwide.
It is now the main tactical airlifter for many military forces worldwide. Over forty variants and versions of the Hercules, including a civilian one marketed as the Lockheed L-100, operate in more than 70 nations.
Beyond the C-130, this facility manufactured other legendary military icons, including the massive C-5 Galaxy transport and the F-22 Raptor stealth fighter. It also constructs the critical center-wing assemblies for the F-35 Lightning II.
The Lockheed Martin facility in Marietta, Georgia—historically known as Air Force Plant No. 6—is famous because it holds the undisputed world record for the longest continuously running military aircraft production line in history. It's history includes the time during World War II when it was operated by the Bell Aircraft Corporation to build B-29 bombers.

^^^ Gonna get our son & his wife one of those for Christmas, I think...

So... a little slice of life here in northern New England. Mrs. H and I were down in the basement doing some clean-up kind of stuff (nice and cool in the basement) this afternoon for an hour or so. When I went back upstairs, I noticed that several, though not all, of our birdfeeders had been ransacked. Little to no damage to any of them, though. We were kind of perplexed. Who mighta dunnit?
We do have a gamecam set up out back, although not by the feeders. It's a bit further down the hill, by the holding tank or whatever you call it (septic tank?
) for the septic system. Two days in a row a couple of weeks ago there was a pile of medium-sized scat on one of the access hatches, and I was curious who the scatter was. I figured it wasn't likely, but also not impossible, that the feeder-raider might've ambled past it as they vacated the scene of the crime.
At any rate, after dinner I pulled the memory card out of the gamecam to see if there might be a glimpse of the perp.
I mean... strictly circumstantial evidence, but the timing's about right.

that one's built similarly to the one who ambled through here today -- kinda lean-looking.

I saw a video clip recently about a couple of hikers who were on a trail, and a couple of young bears came barreling down.
Two things struck me - first, how fast they were, even just looping past. Second, imagining for a minute how much damage they'd do if one were to crash into you at that speed. Even without an attack, just the bulk at such speed would likely very easily break bones, not to mention potential for internal injuries.
These people just happened to be off to the side of the trail, maybe 10-20ft away from each of the bears as they ran past. Pretty awesome, bears.

Tom~ In search of accurate reproduction of music. Real sound is my reference and while perfection may not be attainable? If I chase it, I might just catch excellence. ~ -
