Cree

I had a bunch of these bulbs I got from Lowes. They all seem to fail
early. They start flickering on and off for a while before they die.
Last time I ever buy these. Almost the whole bulb section at Lowes were
these.

Apparently the consumer division of Cree changed ownership.
QC is in the toilet. There's even a class action lawsuit about
advertised hours of service. I know this batch didn't last more
    than a month or two.

I no longer buy Sylvania for the same reason. I have had better luck with the Feit bulbs from Menards.

A lot of my lighting is recessed at this point, and I've had great luck with Halo LED lights.

Phillips LED lighting has done well for me as well, recessed and bulbs that go into regular fixtures.

I think that, at this point, the bulk of LED lighting products suffer from the scourge of under-rated capacitors in their power supplies. Bugs the heck outta me. Cree was a premium brand not all that long ago. :#

@Upstatemax good to hear some products have been good for you so far. I have a couple of Philips LED 'bulbs' here, and they're OK so far.

I had good luck with the GE Reveal line of LEDs in both bulb and fluorescent tube replacements. FEIT has been solid too, especially in the garage where they seem to not care about cold weather at all.

I've run the cheapest brand Amazon sells for over 5 years and they seem to last right at 5 years before they flicker and die.
They come out to wrong a dollar or less per bulb

I've had good luck with the GE brand, but there has definitely been a downturn in quality. Almost none last as long as they should.

I’ve had great luck with Home Depot’s “house brand” (turquoise-greenish box). Pretty affordable, and last 4-5 years.
