Quote of the day by Albert Einstein:

    t847e12e7mv6.png

    a9fbk2y8q3r4.png
He was awarded the Nobel Prize in Physics in 1921, mainly for his work on the photoelectric effect, which later became important in the development of quantum theory. But beyond his scientific work, Einstein was also someone who thought deeply about life, society, and human behaviour. His writings and statements often show that he paid attention to how people think and act in everyday situations.

(Evidently a very smart man in knowledge other than Physics)

Brilliant historical use of players and their events at previous Masters tournaments
I didn't recognize what was going on the first 2-3 times I saw the commercial. Then I thought that looks like the type of clothes Jack Nicklaus wore. Two other players were featured in redo events too.

The commercial features a young girl named Cora recreating Jack Nicklaus's legendary 17th-hole birdie putt from the 1986 Masters. In the spot, she mirrors Nicklaus's iconic attire—including a yellow shirt and plaid pants—and his famous celebration as the original broadcast audio plays in the background.

This BankofAmerica ad campaign with the kids recreating memorable @TheMasters moments aren't just adorable. They're helping raise money for a good cause. The Golf with Us program, a partnership with Youth on Course that provides kids ages 6–18 with $5 tee times and free one-year memberships.

    Anyone driven across this bridge?

A terrifying Texas bridge, known as one of the most heart-stopping drives in the US, has been restored and reopened. The Rainbow Bridge connects Jefferson County and Orange County over the Neches River, carrying drivers between Port Arthur and Bridge City. Famous for its anxiety-inducing steep incline, the ascent gives the same feeling as the anticipation of riding up a rickety roller coaster.

The Rainbow Bridge was first built in 1938 and is among the tallest on the Gulf Coast. It rises to a height of a 20-story building - nearly 200 ft. The Rainbow Bridge is parallel to its neighbor, Veterans Memorial Bridge

I would not be able to drive it; heck I'm getting nervous just looking at a pic of it.

The (old) Harry W. Nice Bridge on US 301 across the Potomac in southern Maryland is (edit: was) kinda sorta like that. My mother was not crazy about driving across large bridges in general. That one freaked her out every time.
Of course, she later commuted across the Key Bridge to East Baltimore -- but she didn't like it. :#

Isn't there a bridge over the C&D canal on the Eastern Shore (up north) that goes fairly steeply up and down? I have a hazy memory of a pretty impressive bridge from an outing over that way many years back.

Plus, here's the aforementioned Nice Bridge (fairly recently replaced). I've been over the new bridge, now that I think about it.

Telephoto lenses always make those bridges much steeper looking than they really are. It compresses the depth of field. In reality, that bridge only has a 5% grade, which is less than you see on the Interstate in the mountains. I'm not saying it isn't scary to drive. Heck, I can't stand driving on 85 fly-over exit ramp of Spaghetti Junction in Atlanta or the Zilwaukee Bridge in Michigan, or many others... Anything where the side rails are low enough to see over :s

Spaghetti Junction always makes me think of The Ravioli Hillbillies and Lasagna Acres.

I crossed the Nice bridge many times... it was effing steep. Only a hair past two lanes wide, too... and chockablock with tractor-trailers much of the time.

Yeah. Goes over the canal at Chesapeake City. Not my favorite bridge on the planet. Fairly steep approach & the guardrails are just vertical posts. And you're up there

Before getting on the bridge, do they have a diaper station?

Scariest bridge I've been on was going into Charleston. The lanes seemed to be only a few inches wider than my vehicle and those guard rails weren't going to stop anything. I understand it has been replaced.

It has. Here is the new bridge...it opened July 16th of 2025. We saw it when we were down there earlier this year, but we never drove over it. It sure does look nice!

I second that fearful minute or two crossing that OLD bridge. :o:# !!

I was driving an overloaded boom truck with a framing package on it. My mirror was inches away from the framing beams. I swear I felt the road sagging as I drove over it. :#

If I knew how old and crickity it was, I would've told the lumber yard to take some weight off. I was MAD, and I was SCARED to death for a couple of minutes. It sucked!

They were building a new concrete bridge right beside it, but it was a few months away from opening.

There's a steep bridge south of me that drops steeply onto Holden Beach. This bridge is a butt-tightener, too.
I had to go over it to buy some Polk Audio SDA-CRS's a few years ago. I took pictures as I went over it both ways and posted them on this forum to show it to everybody. Here it is. :D

I used to have this recurring sketchy dream as a kid after we came back from a trip to Florida one year. It was of some imagined ultra-steep, high and skinny bridge, like one narrow lane, with NO guard rails - just edges. And a couple hundred feet below was shallow marsh. And it was windy. In the dream, I believe it was supposed to be somewhere in Georgia or South Carolina. Where "they don't speak a lick of English".

All of your photos and stories reminded me of it and had me chuckling a bit at others being similarly "conscious of precarious, though relatively safe, but who cares it still doesn't matter eff that, heights".
