Doesn't seem like a bad price... I mean, you can't get a decent current production pickup or "full sized" SUV for that. :#

So... we are part of a local food coop here in the "Upper Valley". The Coop has some advantages (e.g., excellent meat, seafood, and produce), but, of course, not cheap. We don't shop there often -- but we do when it counts (e.g., prime rib for Christmas dinner).
Every month they have a giveaway for coop members -- if you bought something that month, you're entered. We only found this out when, out of the blue, a year or so ago, we got a call telling us we'd won! Stopped by and picked up our prize, an environmentally sincere ;) tote bag filled with environmentally sincere cleaning products.
Fast forward to yesterday. Mrs. H was starting our first tranche of seeds for the garden (tomatoes). She wanted a spray bottle to mist the pots and the seedlings without over-wetting them. She asked about the things we'd won three of, so I went and got one. Nice glass bottles with a spray head.
I opened the environmentally sincere packaging, started to extract the contents, and began laughing uproariously.
Mrs. H, not surprisingly, wondered what was up*, so I showed her the (three) packets of cleaner packaged with the spray bottle.

We've had activity for weeks now. The white bird box on the corner of the cottage has been checked out a lot, and we think a female has built a nest in there with a little help from a male. We've seen ANY chicks born there and also some sad broods that didn't hatch, or maybe one egg that didn't hatch.

There's been one male Bluebird that attacks its reflection on our new window panels this year. He's done it A LOT! He's the one with the female. They both go in and out of the box at first. Then he goes to the hole and hangs there and peeps in quite a bit.

Anyway, I thought I would snap a few pics of the. The Female didn't come around while I was taking them.

The shepard hooks are just 4 feet away from the panels. This guy sits on them a lot.

Yikes, I've been FIXATED on Blue Birds!

My mind has been sorta crazy for about 2 weeks, or since around March 8.

I took a home COVID test and it was positive on Tuesday March 10. I called my doctor started taking the latest
Paxlovid 30 pill pack or six pills a day for five days.

    g507qjgwkw7s.png

My costs for the pills at CVS Pharmacy with supplemental insurance - $777.00

During this period, I have had the usual COVID symptoms, lots of strange dreams, warped thinking, unbelievable tiredness, and the taste of food completely disappeared. A trip to feed my three cats up and down stairs felt like a trip to the moon,

Light at the end of tunnel
Today is the first day that I have felt like I am headed totally in the "getting well direction". The congestion in my throat has subsided and I am thinking more clearly. Tiredness is still a big issue.

I have no idea how I became infected. My travels in the prior week to March 8 only to Chic-Fil-A, Target, Home Depot and Publix. All within two miles of my house.

    Perspective
I have been to no crowded events since February 7, 2020. That was a trip with my friend to see the The Eagles when they kicked off their "Hotel California" 2020 Tour with three sold-out, heavily lauded shows at Atlanta's State Farm Arena on February 7, 8, and 11, 2020. The 3.5-hour concerts featured the album in its entirety, accompanied by an orchestra and choir, followed by a greatest hits set. Note: Hotel California was performed twice.

    v467k2em37fb.png
The show started with the Hotel California LP on the phonograph The Eagles soared through their many hits on Friday, February 7, 2020, at the first of 3 sold out shows at State Farm Arena on their Hotel California tour

COVID was not named yet. My friend and I were slightly worried about the virus. I read that Friday March 13 2020 was the first time the virus really broke free in the United States. Now six years later on Friday 13, 2026, my friend and I have encountered the virus. We had all the Covid vaccinations up until about two years ago.

Be careful COVID is still out there.

I did my daily reading of the Polk Forum during this period. I feel blessed at 80 years old surviving COVID-19 and being a member of this forum.

By now you should have known those "vaccinations" for Covid are a JOKE !! you have had all that RNA crud put into your system and it has done what for you? NOTHING ! It sure DIDN'T stop you from getting covid.
How many times have you gotten Smallpox or the Measles after being vaccinated?

    WOW. You are blessed. o:)

I went through it a couple of years ago. I didn't get an experimental vax. But I went to see a Doc about my upper Resp. cough that wouldn't end. I was diagnosed with COVID-19 and prescribed Paxlovid, also. I only took a few pills and had to stop it. The pax sucks! I then got better quickly from the cough, but stayed weak for at least a year or up till now, I guess.

My wife worked in medical research for 30+ years and didn't like the overall info the medical administrations were, or really weren't giving out, so we waited until more info came out. We still haven't.

I know I didn't pay much for my Pax. My wife got Covid 19 and gave it to me. She pres. Pax. also, and didn't pay much either. She DID take all of her pills, and she didn't really slow down much after getting better. Same weight, same workaholic she is. :D Your cost SUCKED!!! I wonder what our insurance differences are?

Walking from the front of my house to the back was hard for a week or so, too.

I'm 68.5 but was very active. I lost 15 lbs. in about a week, and I'm still around 150+ now. Haven't gotten my weight or full energy back. Many nights, I felt like I was going to go to sleep, and that would be it. :s

I feel for you and am glad you're feeling better. ;)

Upper respiratory infections are bad news for us elderly folks.

I like having you on this forum a lot. Don't go anywhere now. ;)

Get healthy and keep looking for Bluebirds.

Here's a pic I took a few minutes ago. I think they want to use one of our 3 boxes we have up for Bluebirds.

Four shots, and they all came down sick after coming home from Iraq.
    I still refuse the shots.

Covid shots, like flu shots, are a crapshoot due to the high mutation rates of those viruses. And they both must be repeated yearly to be "effective". I do not get those shots anymore because for me the shots are worse than the disease. I had Covid last October and it was a nothingburger. Smallpox and Measles OTOH mutate slowly which is why the shots are generally one and done.

Another funny AI video, probably done by the same makers of the cat and dog firecracker blowing up after the poodle takes the pan off.

This looks so real, and it cracked my wife and me up. The Tuxedo cat looks just like our Oreo. f985tt5i4g7c.jpg

A storm ripped some old house wrap on the right side a couple of weeks ago or less. So I pulled all the button cap nails out and threw the old wrap away. I put some flashing down near the ground up front where there was none before. How I didn't know that is crazy. I had to rest.

I then pulled up the side decking to rake the leaves ( a yearly maintenance thing ) and decided to give this side a major refreshing with the ground and decking supports. It was windy yesterday, so I painted some outdoor stuff. Cut a small/short kick plate on the left bottom corner by the trash can. I've been wanting to do that for ages. Then today, I wanted to paint some kick plates in front of the porch that I replaced last year. I primed it this afternoon. I thought there was no rain expected for a few days...oh well. It's supposed to rain at 6 am tomorrow. :o:s

I had the lower part covered with extra rain shielding, but I took it off to put the cleaned decking supports back down. Then I was going to put new house wrap on, using the support line as a guide for the bottom of the wrap.
I did nail the flashing some more yesterday, so I'm kind of ok and not too worried. It is what it is...

My wife likes to help with the yearly cleaning of the leaves over there. Then she leaves, and I put the 4x4' sections back in place. I also pick them all up myself to begin the project. B) It sure makes my job easier!

Here are some pics of these blood-moving projects.
