So I had them for over a week and I have listened and tweaked them every single day. Last weekend, they were on basically the entire time except when we went to bed. All week I put at least 2 to 4 hours per day on them and today I put another 5 hours on them as I was home most of the day.

So the Bronze 300 7g floor standing speakers are a nice 2.5 way speakers , bi wire or bi amp is how you can connect them or if you wish just single ended. For wiring I have had SLP 14-2 which is what I started with, then moved to Rocket 33 single ended , then Type 9 Single ended , Rocket 44 single ended , and right now I have SLP 14-4 Bi wired. As you know I use all Audioquest cables.

For power I'm using my Integra Flagship DRX 8.4 AVR. It has 150 watts into 2 channels driven. I have no desire to start pulling out my amp collection and powering them that way as the Integra has more then enough power, dynamics clarity I can evaluate them with fairness.

Music I used my Marantz CD player, Sonos Port , Bluesound Node and Apple TV streaming Apple Music. They all sound great , I enjoy using the Apple TV for the visual experience and not have to sit there with my phone to change music like on Bluesound and Sonos. The Marantz CD player I like as it sounds really good and I can spin CD's , yeah I'll still put them out once in a while especially when I'm evaluating speakers.

I have them setup 2 ways , 1 Direct which makes them full range No subwoofers. 2 Ran in small during Stereo with 2 Veloydne Subwoofers , 1 DD10 Plus and 1 SPL 1200. Call me lazy , I have my other DD 10 Plus down in the basement as awhile back Phil gave me his broken SPL 1200 as it was gonna go in the trash I thought maybe I could get it working unless the amp was shot. It wasn't I got it working, removed one of my DD 10's and I haven't moved it since. It's been there quite awhile. My wife likes the Cherry finish on it as it's not just another black box in the family room and it sound pretty good so I don't have rush of drive to remove it and put my other DD back in.

Speakers are 7.8 inches apart center to center on the tweeters. They are 13 inches away from the back wall center measurement. They have an upward angle to fire just over my ear height. I also have them toed to finish the Triangle point about 3 feet behind me. I have a Dining room behind 1/2 the listening position so I can easily make my measurements. Seating is 11.4 feet away. So if you consider these distances, I have ruffly a 3/4 triangle going on and 14 feet of triangle point.

After I got a good amount of hours on them, I decided to really start paying attention to how they sound. They have a balance to them that is very pleasing. Even pressure from top to bottom. The Mid range is clean detailed and full of life. The bass when ran in direct is deep punchy yet clean and very balanced. They don't one hit wonder at all, they track bass notes very good. BUT when I run them in small, they clean up even more. They have a lot of air around them, they open up big time as the 2 Velodyne Subwoofers really dig deep and low. Even though the SPL 1200 is no match to the DD 10 plus, the way I have them calibrated into the room, they work especially for music. Most music doesn't dig down to 20 hz and that is where the SPL 1200 falls off and the DD 10 keeps going. So that is an imbalance when watching action movies but no issues with music.

Overall I'm pretty impressed with speakers that cost under $2k. Honestly I have not had speakers under $2k since I had my Polk RT1000p's and my RT16's. Both of those speakers retail around $1k. I forget what the LSI 15's costs but from distant memory , they were great sounding speakers but I think the Monitors can out class them. I would need a pair here to find that out for sure but I recall really loving the LSI15's even with the factory bass driver. I never did the woofer upgrade.

I can't believe I can buy speakers this affordable and enjoy them as much as my Mythos ST towers and my Focal's. Both of them cost far more then the Monitors especially the Mythos ST Towers as they retailed for $4k way back when. They sound it to as they were Sandy's Pride and joy when he made them. They where is Polk SRT's to Mathew.

So to finish this, I can say I'm happy with my purchase and I won't be jumping right to Silvers as I thought I would after a few days of listening. The Silver series from Monitor are a step up in cabinet quality and finishes but as far as sound quality, they are remarkably close. A buddy of mine has the Silver 300 7g's and I plan on bringing them here to really go head to head and see if my Memory serves me or not. The silver 300's are stupid good and the ASH finish is right up my alley. They also would work very good with my new Decor coming in the spring. The White satin finish on the Bronze 300 7g's is very nice clean and the wood trim ring around the front bezel I really love. It looks so damn good. It's different and it's really nice.

    Hey Dan,

Nice write up! It sounds like you are really liking the new speakers. I know you really liked the Focal's and for the Bronze line to give them a run for their money that's saying something.
You can definitely pull off white speakers with your rooms color scheme, in fact I think any color would match up well. Black is nice but I guess it can get old after awhile.
I'm happy to see my old SPL1200 is serving you well!
    Enjoy your new digs!!

It's been working for months now and I'm happy about that. It's a nice subwoofer with a nice look to it. Not to mention it adds to my Velodyne collection LOL.

As I mentioned a few times now, the room decor is going to change into more earthy colors. The white with the exposed wood trim around the bezel I think is going to look fantastic. I'm just happy they are as good as they are as if they where not, I'd get rid of them and move up to the Silver 300 7g's in Ash, they where my second choice.

The Focal's are awesome sounding speakers and if they were a lighter wood color, they would stay. They are so damn good.
