Audiogon?

Does anyone use Audiogon anymore? I haven't been there in awhile, and it seems to me it has dropped, where The Music Room has picked up over the last few years..

And they want you to have a CC on file to even respond to an Ad..

Like I said, I haven't been on there for some time, so maybe it's just me.. :D

I hated AG decades ago. No communication between members (unless you buy something) and when the greed really hit? It's been downhill ever since.

    Sad, but true...

Audiogon has definitely seen better days.
I only go there to read a few of the forum posts anymore.
Used to be the place to buy used gear. It's been turned into an advertisement haven for the new owners as a money grab and the members have suffered.

That there is a big no go for me. The amount of websites getting hacked these days is off the charts. Last year I received at a minimum 6-7 notices from different companies that my info was lost in a hacking attack. These days it's not IF it will happen, because IT will happen.

Not to mention the "acceptance" of trolls. It's overwhelming these days. Folks like WillyM2 and Jujiku are more commonplace than not

I've bought a few things in the past 2 years. Everything went smoothly. Communication was great. End product was better than described.

Don't recall having to post a CC just to inquire.

P.s Went back and looked an I bought 4 things in the past 2 years. $1600 spent, nary an issue.
"Appreciation of audio is a completely subjective human experience. Measurements can provide a measure of insight, but are no substitute for human judgment. Why are we looking to reduce a subjective experience to objective criteria anyway? The subtleties of music and audio reproduction are for those who appreciate it. Right before Thanksgiving,I purchased a pair of Red Dragon Audio M500 monos off of Agon. The seller was very cool. We even communicated for a bit after the sale. There are definitely some huge egos in the forums. It seems that folks post their opinions as facts. Sometimes it can be entertaining.
