I will be in the Market for a new AVR next year wouldnt mind replacing my Onkyo with an Integra, I will look into one of these when the time comes.

Before you run out and buy an Integra, look over the Onkyo line first to see if a model fits your needs. the Only reason to go Integra is to have the additional features . So as an example, look at the RZ50 Onkyo vs the Integra DRX5.4. They are very similar yet the Integra has more custom features. This hold true at the flagship RZ70 Onkyo vs the Integra DRX8.4. Also the Integra's are a bit more and your paying for features you may or may not need.

Before you head in, talk to me and I can help making the best choice .

I think you should have gotten the model with more speaker outputs.

    Hello everyone,
I have been going through just about every model on the market trying to figure out what would make my life better, what would enhance what I like to do with my system and so on and so forth.

So I had Denon, Marantz , Sony ES Looked into the Yamaha line deeply, spent some time with the 4 and 6, but honestly it was when I started to play with the Integra line is when I knew I found it.

I ran the Integra DTR70.4 before retiring it to my bedroom setup. It's a discontinued model but still going strong and still great sounding!! I haven't looked at anything new with Integra but my experience with them has been outstanding!!

    Set up:

    Marantz AV8802A - Sources: BRP Panasonic 9000/CDP Emotiva ERC 3 - Display: LG OLED EVO 83 C3 - Amplification: Emotiva XPA-DR3, XPA-6, XPA-2 x 2 - Speakers: Focal/PolkAudio, Mains/2ch - Kanta No2, C - LSiM706, SS - LSiM702, WS - RTiA9, RS - RTiA9, FH - RTiA3 - Subs: Epik Empires x 2

Cables: AQ McKenzie XLR's from CDP to AVP to amp for 2ch, Emotiva XLR's for the rest - Douglasconnection: Furutech Alpha 36 12g speaker wire for 2ch, Furez 10g speaker wire for the rest - AQ Forest48 HDMI for the display, AQ Carbon48 HDMI from BRP to AVP - VR3 filtered power cables for CDP, BRP and AVP, Emotiva power cables for the amps - AudioQuest 505 power conditioner.

EXPERIENCE: next to nothing, but I sure enjoy audio and video MY OPINION OF THIS HOBBY: I may not be a smart man, but I know what quicksand is.

It's the CC800V. It's from the Chorus Line. the DTR 70.4 was a beast of a AVR.

I checked out the DRX8.4....wow, almost makes me want to go back to Integra. I didn't see any processors on the website. Are they a thing of the past now?

No they don't have a Processor and separates like a few years back .

The DRX 8.4 is a beast, it's so powerful and so clear. The detail on it you would swear you were listening to a separate system. And for a Flagship AVR, it's not expensive at all. I think it retails for $3349 which is awesome for what it can do. I run a full 5.2.4 Atmos system with no external amps and it powers everyting to any level I want with no sign of Dynamic range loss. If anything the dynamic range on this thing is incredible. It's so explosive. The new amps they use in it are well designed. A lot of power reserve. Check out the amp design when you get a chance if you haven't already.

It's pretty heavy as well at 50 LBS.

Hard to keep up with what companies own what companies these days but it appears Onkyo/Integra/Pioneer Elite/Klipsch are owned since April 2025 by Gentex Corporation (US based) which has mostly been known as an automotive industry supplier. Primarily auto dimming technology.

The DRX8.4 kind of treads the ground between receiver and processor with its balanced input and outputs. That's from the custom installer focus.

There are news stories in the last couple months that they plan to introduce new product lines to challenge Marantz and Denon. I've already noticed some products that I wasn't expecting to see because I thought Onkyo and Pioneer were going under a few years ago.

I sell Integra but carry Denon and Marantz. I have not heard anything about Integra Onkyo Pioneer plans for new equipment. Really no need for it right now. The RZ50 from Onkyo is a DIY's dream piece still to this day
