Hi,
I bought this power conditioner many years ago on the forum when you could consider shipping a 70 lb box with a massive transformer. The power switch started to shut off by itself more and more regularly as of late. Even with nothing plugged into it the switch would trip. Google said the switch is a thermal circuit breaker. Luckily the part numbers were visible, ordered the part and $60 and a $5 tariff later part arrived. Soldered the new one in and back in business.
I've been copying vinyl to the pc for a few weeks since the weather has been bad lately. I thought I would use a different power conditioner while I wait for the switch to arrive. The recording levels showed more random noise that I hadn't noticed with the BP-2. So I didn't record any vinyl until I fixed the BP-2. Also noticed noise from the router so that's off when recording. Happy to have fixed the BP-2 so I don't have to think about a replacement. LP to pc sounds great using 24/192 wave files. Can't really hear the difference between LP or wave files.

Good save. Does that shunt capacitor prevent popping/surge on start-up?
