Accessories4Less

I had great luck buying gear from Accessories4Less in the past, but it's been years since I've done so.

Have any of you bought from them recently? Bad or good experience?

I haven't read anything negative about them lately. I would expect they are still a reputable place for purchase. Use a CC that has good purchase protection and you shouldn't have any worries.

Yes, they are still great to work with.

I looked over their site and seems like they have some good deals on B stock, returns etc. Nothing wrong with that as some returns are exactly that. Something didn't fit, something wasn't correct or as expected , and in some cases user error. Either way, refurb stuff is a really good way to save a few bucks.

I have heard many good things about them, never heard anything negative. I have not shopped with them.

I bought Polk Elite ES20's and Marantz PM6007 as refurbs. They looked brand new when I received them. Boxes were perfect with only one layer of (factory tape) and the remote for the Marantz was in an unopened plastic bag and still had the protective film on the front of the remote.

If I hadn't bought them as refurbs, I would never have known. Sometimes manufacturers will allow an outlet like A4L to sell brand new items, listing as refurbs, at a discount $$ so as not to upset the regular dealers who are selling the same "as new" items at higher prices.

For as long as they have been selling some models (2 years) there is no way they would have enough open box, returned or repaired items to go around.

My gear was flawless right down to the perfectly wrapped corners of the plastic bag covering the Marantz integrated.

It's customary for high end products to rebox, repack items in like new fashion because they have the margins to pay for it. Think companies like Pass Labs who will send your used item back to you, say, after a check up, in brand spanking new factory perfect packaging.

I have no doubt the stuff I purchased was BNIB. Just a lesser warranty. I have enough confidence in both companies that the warranty is a non-issue.

Same experience here. Quite often factory refreshed is something that went into the distribution chain but didn't sell as expected and got returned. I bought a Marantz receiver from them once and even the remote control looked brand new and the free AA battery pack was unopened. Little packs of desiccant were still included in the box too. There's a pretty big margin built in for mass market audio products.
