Identifying a 1980s Polk Speaker Model

Can anyone provide a model # for 1980s Polk speakers that are Black plastic wood grain, 21"H x 9"W x 12"D (with grill removed), two 6" speakers, 1 dome tweeter. There is a round 2" port on the back with a 7"H x 8"W x3/8" thick solid plate over the port on standoffs 1" from the back. There is a cone in the center of the plastic plate with a cone extending into the plate that I think is the woofer. They sound great but I am downsizing and would like to know the model for a sale listing. Thanks

    They are RT55s, maybe. ;)
Most people just listen to music and watch movies. I EXPERIENCE them.

so... @obliqueangler (that's kind of an obtuse abstruse moniker -- even a cute moniker, innit? ;))... here's the thing. We're speaker geeks here. We really would love to help you out (and show off our knowledge of Polk loudspeaker arcana!).
I'll betcha that there is a camera on whatever device you used to post here. Give it a go, if you would. Please? :)
No camera, maybe you've got access to a scanner or "MFP" (multi-function printer)? That'll work.
No scanner? Take one of the speakers out in the back yard and place it face up. Sooner or later, GoogleEarth will get an image of it and update their map of your area online. It will be clearly visible if you blow it up (unless it's a minispeaker, but we already know how big it is). You don't have to disclose your location. Just take a screenshot of your backyard when it shows up, edit out the GPS coordinates and the URL, and post the image here.

    Geez, folks.

The speaker was already identified in the thread title.

    It's a Polk Model #1980-S.

    Mystery: solved!
hmm ... just the thing to have paired with a Pioneer SX-1980 -- back in the 1970s. :|

ahem -- and, of course, the Polk 1980-S must never be confused with the sought-after 1980-SE, which featured upgraded crossover components, Teflon-insulated silver wiring, and rare veneers that were illegal in most of the developed world -- having been sourced through South American revolutionaries cutting down endangered rainforest trees under cover of darkness, enduring withering gunfire.

RT55i dimensions (from the manual). Depth measurement may include the Powerport plate.

    Dimensions:
    21 1/8"H x 9 1/2"W x 14 3/8"D
    537mm H x 241 3mm W x 365 1mm D

    Price...about a hundred dollars.
