Snub Way road test

My tinnitus and music listening environment plus two window units running during the summer months, and ALL the systems being plugged in and in standby mode, I'm sure would be too much for the great Snub Way device to silence.
I have fluorescent lights and reg. bulbs up high I could turn off but those are really irrelevant because of the more serious issues I mentioned above.
My Tinnitus isn't that bad most of the time so maybe if I had LESS stuff all around and so much plugged in, adding the back room systems plugged in and in standby also, I would've 100% bought this device because of the members experiences on this forum.
You can't hardly buy a good cd player for 300.00 now. I'm sure this device is worth the cost!
Yeah, the 185.00 offer is SO tempting, even for me!
Most people just listen to music and watch movies. I EXPERIENCE them.

If no one else is interested, I would consider it for my HT - BUT, I don’t want to take it from someone that could use it in their 2ch system.“Human beings are born with different capacities. If they are free, they are not equal. And if they are equal, they are not free.”

Maybe it’s just me, but I’m a little confused by the “anticlimactic end” comments. Seems like the road test (👍for the creative description) generated fairly significant sales for the vendor he wouldn’t have otherwise had, based on the size of the participants/community. Are those comments related to the interest in the demo unit? Just trying to understand the disappointment.

That has been my primary hang up as well.
I would buy it for my HT, but I also feel like someone here could use it in a more important system! -

I think it's because people weren't "fighting" for the demo unit.
But I think a lot of it is because of "polite reservation" and many people buying one for themselves before this unit became available. -
I know one member expressed interest in the demo unit and then missed it so much in their rig that they went ahead and bought a factory one instead of taking their chances on getting the demo. That seems like a win-win for all, IMO.
The one or two BIG sales they ran at the same time probably had an impact, too.

Everything you said is the reason I said “anticlimactic end.” Great demo opportunity, great, fairly consistent reviews about the products performance…the most overall positive I’ve ever seen from a demo…and then all of sudden it was crickets. For what was an otherwise informative and interesting thread about a great, inexpensive demo product, it just seemed to end abruptly.Things work out best for those who make the best of the way things work out.-John Wooden -
Maybe "disappointment" is the wrong word for me. I was a bit surprised that the number of people interested was not higher once the reviews came in. If the cost to ship was higher, such as the preamp that went around a few years ago and if the cost of the unit itself would have been higher, I would have expected a low turn out. Still, it was fun to read other people's views on the product.Yep, my name really is Bob.

I ordered both a SW and an MC after participating in the demo, jumping on the Summer sale discount.
The SW arrived about two weeks after purchasing, but I'm still waiting on the MC. I've emailed Mark a few times, and he has been very quick to respond, apologizing for the delay, and explaining that the shells for the MC were held-up in customs due to the tariff situation.
I look forward to trying the combo

Yeah, I just went ahead plunked down for the SW and MC after my demo cause the things were so impactful. Of course my timing was perfect to miss all the sales. Well I got my MC to go with my SW today and installed it. I had delayed shipping for several weeks as I didn't want it coming in when I was out of town.
I noticed more sound improvement with the MS than I had noticed with the SW. The Bass and midrange seem clearer than before, the music sounded better overall than without the MS. Some of the background sounds sounded clearer and more present than before.
I put the MS in my power conditioner power strip in the first outlet and plugged the SW into the wall outlet the power condition power strip was plugged into.
I be curious to see if it improves more after I've had it for several days. Quick question to see if anyone sees an issue with my plan.
I want the MC and SW as soon as possible in the chain.
My plan; to use my existing dedicated outlet to plug the MC and SW into the wall, then extend off of that outlet to a new outlet to plug my system into the new outlet that's being off of the outlet now containing the MC and SW.
Anyone see an issue here? -
I don't think the MC and SW will fit in the same wall outlet due to their size.

Just tested in my outlet, you are absolutely correct.
This is why I ask these questions!
There is always something pretty damn obvious that seems to never occur to me!

I was really hoping DK would review these devices with graphs and charts, when they were first talked about by Tom. I didn't know about his illness.Post edited by Hermitism on

My MC would not fit in the receptacle of choice so I used this thingy. You could put the MC and the SW in it.

I was thinking the gadget I posted would work similar to this.Things work out best for those who make the best of the way things work out.-John Wooden -
If you were using a PS Audio Duet, for example, that has two outlets with two isolated filter banks, would plugging in one of these devices directly into the Duet only filter one outlet? Would the second outlet in the Duet benefit?

I was looking at the 3 versions of that last night, the XL version has my attention. -

The quickest and cheapest route to do what you are wanting to achieve can be had tomorrow (with Amazon Prime) for under 6 bucks (at the moment, they are on sale). Get you two of these and use the extension part for the SW and MC. That way, the passive devices still reside within the circuit, as close to the gear as possible, and no construction work would be needed.
Here is the link for anyone interested. https://www.amazon.com/dp/B01JRLSPRW
To answer your query, yes. It can be done on most circuits, but legally, you have to pull a permit and have a licensed electrician do it for you. Legally.Wouldn't the "noise" just bypass the plug extension?
No. It just has to be on the circuit, as it is a passive filter. Preferably closest to the gear.If you were using a PS Audio Duet, for example, that has two outlets with two isolated filter banks, would plugging in one of these devices directly into the Duet only filter one outlet? Would the second outlet in the Duet benefit?
Now that one, I can't answer with certainty. There are way too many variables at play here. That device is a filter as well and they are (according to what was stated) isolated....but so is the Puritan and so is my isolation transformer. The effect is still there, but the effectiveness will have to be done through experimentation to determine the best location for maximum effect. Sometimes it's better for some prior to the unit above, while others have reported better results being plugged into the unit itself. Every configuration and electrical system, along with the noise(s) they carry are different. What works for one, might not mean that their scenario would work best in your case.
