Just a bunch of DIY ideas.
They sell tube guards for 12AX7/6922 tubes, but they are stacked guards which makes it harder to remove tube without disassembly. Maybe that wouldn't matter to you. It looks like the OEM allows you to get fingers between the standoffs and remove tube without removing top of guard. But the hole spacing may not match your existing holes and you most likely wouldn't want to drill more.
These were on ebay. $21 for the pair with $8 shipping from China. Some sellers sold them individually and even offered Gold ones. Ali Express has them too. I've only ordered once from Ali and it was a good experience.
IF the hole spacing matched, buy one guard for two top pieces and make standoffs from 3/16" aluminum rod cut to length. Drill and tap for screws. I have done that. 12" 3/16" aluminum rod ~ $3. You can polish smooth aluminum to a shiny surface with Mother's Aluminum polish. If surface is rough you can smooth with fine sandpaper before polishing.
Disclaimer, touching polished uncoated (no clear coat) aluminum with your fingers, the oils will cause discoloration if not removed, requiring re-polishing. The Lenco platter I polished is like that so I use rubber gloves when removing it.
IF the hole spacing matched and you didn't mind an industrial look get hex aluminum standoffs in appropriate length. They are available in various lengths. I've purchased 2.5" and 3" long ones for some projects. I've also seen round ones someplace but cannot recall where.
Find an aluminum washer or spacer of appropriate size for top guard. Aluminum is easier to drill than stainless or chrome. IIRC these were 1 & 1/8" diameter, 3/4" ID which would be too small.
The clip in plastic braces for the wife's above ground planters broke so I made some out of aluminum rod. I drilled and tapped the ends for screws. I made nine of them for three planters.
My one Ali Express experience. They had $10 off for new user and I got a pair of these reel to reel retainers for $12 shipped. They are friction slide on type.

Room continues to come together.
Have two chairs coming in later this week as well as a new light fixture.
Here’s where we are right now.

My wife’s favorite thing in the room:

Light came in and like everything else in this house, you can’t just do the actual work without taking one or more steps back….
Discovered that captain halfass had hung a ceiling fan (that I replaced w a regular fixture when we moved in) in a standard electrical box….

But upon looking I found where it used to have a proper ceiling fan box….. so confused why he would do that, but I’ve stopped trying to understand him at this point.

So after buying and installing a correct box, was able to install the light/fan combo….

Room is 90% together. Still need to do some cable routing and get/build an end table/ coffee table, but those are minor details.
May play with measuring the room for treatments at some point but this is quite good.

Already had a hour listening session with my youngest, and storm approves as well!

Also was given an old GE A53 radio from a relative. Needs a total refurb inside and some work outside, but fits in here quite well.

Why are the speakers so close to the wall?Political Correctness'.........defined

Why are the speakers so close to the wall?
Because he has a spouse and he lives by the WAF (wife acceptance factor). -
In order to appease the wife you have to frame argument that the wall is to close to the speakers and by moving the speakers the wall is farther away. That way it can be further decorated.
It's not about the speakers... It's about the wall- Not Tom ::::::: Any system can play Diana Krall. Only the best can play Limp Bizkit. -

The room isn’t that big 12’ wide X 10’ deep with another 5’ to 7’ behind it depending on which seat you are in (the entry has a closet at the front).
They are about 3.5” at the closest corner to the wall (since they are toed in a bit right now).
I’ve played around with pulling them out into the room between 6” to 10” but honestly it didn’t do a lot for the stereo image (good or bad). And reading the white paper they don’t really mention needing to have them out into the room either but not a ton of info out there in these either…
Like to white paper here: http://p10hifi.net/TLS/downloads/Fried_H_infoS.pdf
For now I can always pull them out when listening and push em back when done.
There is a coffee table that extends up and out to more like a tray table coming in that’s going to fill in some of the space between the woofer cabinet and the chairs so my wife can setup her laptop and monitors in here during the day and my kids can do homework afterschool.
I’m still having my sack blown back which is all that matters.
If I get some time I will break out my Mini DSP and UMIK Mic and really dial it in with measurements, or at least understand what my limitations room wise work out to.

Got some time to clean up the crossover of all its decades of dust.
I still need to find zip ties to replace the broken ones so the coils don’t move around.

They look like new again! Great job.
How did you get them that clean? Most people just listen to music and watch movies. I EXPERIENCE them.
