This is a complete re-recording in stereo of Mancini's 1957 mono-only Driftwood and Dreams.
Vocal obligatos were performed by Loulie (credited here as LuLu) Jean Norman, who later provided wordless vocals over the original Star Trek TV theme for the first season. Her vocals were edited out of succeeding seasons.

I think it is the other way around. Her vocals are present on the SECOND and THIRD season, but not on the FIRST. -

Norman delivered the non-lexical vocables over Alexander Courage's opening theme song for the first season of Star Trek. That's exactly why people, including yourself, believe that it was only the first season that has her voice. According to others, that is not true.
After reading your post the first time, I went to YouTube to listen to the difference. It turns out that the voice is much more apparent on the second and third seasons than it is on the first, which caused me to research further and find information opposite to what you originally posted.
Of course, how YouTube videos are titled isn't concrete proof, either, but it is sure interesting how different versions of "the truth" can . . . . differ. -
