The standard c coil versus the biggest they can fit in the machine

You using the big one on SDA's?

Yes, I've actually used it a couple other times but it's quite a bit more than the standard.

I used it on the big duelund build a while back, worked very very well

It meets all the parameters? What does it drop the ohms to?

There's honestly not much difference, the dcr rating of the standard c coil is so low already, it's just a little bit lower.

Similar, I can't recall what the set Sean's read at but I had no issues driving them with a tri Vista integrated to very high levels cleanly with insane bass.

Polks directive on the sda inductor was the lower the dcr the better performance but harder to drive.

Mundorf resister needs a heat sink.

I've installed path audio resistors to a heat sink and there are definitely performance gains, especially if you listen at louder volumes.

I've found alot of benefits of using heat sink based resistors in parallel circuits as they tend to run alot hotter than series resistors.

Most resistors will increase in value as they become hot. If you are ever listening and feel like your sound seems more dampened than the beginning that could be the cause

Here's the slab of marble wood I cut up, planed and used for part of this build. I didn't snag a photo of the bubinga slab but both species is very difficult to work with.

I will 100% verify the above comment regarding listening at high, I mean high, volume at sustained periods, from personal experience I speak.
The music starts to take on a transistor radio type of sound. The first thing you'll notice is bass impact will start to decrease the louder/longer you crank.

This has nothing to do with an amplifier running out of juice, it's exactly what VR is saying. It's the heat build-up of components in the crossover that's the cause.

Most folks will never experience this as most don't listen to their system this way. Most don't punish their system's like some of us do.

It's a weird thing that all of a sudden you wonder what's happening, hard to explain.

You eliminate these things when you don't build to a price point.
Carry on (Sir) building these masterpieces and raising the bar.

    Thank you

Also this eventually will cause resistors to drift in value permanently so if you experience this on a regular basis you should highly consider introducing a heat sink to the build

Thank you- that's really helpful to have awareness of.

When I rebuilt my grandes, the difference in sound quality over say a 3 hour session at 85db nominal with a heat sink crossover versus normal was night and day.

The composure of the sound stayed unchanged and using a temperature gun showed the resistors never went above room temperature even 3 hours in.

On the opposite side of the spectrum, the parallel resistors for the midrange were burning the substrates of the oem crossover.
